    Hello in Tajikistan

  • @alaxandersupertramp6955

    I am building a sifter, Does the eggs fall into the 1/4 holes???

    • @OnBetamax
      @OnBetamax Před rokem

      They do at 1/4. They don't at 1/8 (even that if they have already hatched they do pass through)

    • @brookeonyx6271
      @brookeonyx6271 Před rokem

      Some cocoons will fall through the 1/8” holes if the worms are on the smaller side, but they won’t with a 1/20” hole size.

  • @thomascottrell3853
    @thomascottrell3853 Před rokem

    My castings are very sticky like glue what can i do

    • @brookeonyx6271
      @brookeonyx6271 Před rokem

      They are too wet. I’ve personally found the best way to dry them is to dump them into a mortar try and spread them out into a depth 1-2”, just enough room for any worms left behind. Run your hands through them a few times a day, breaking up any clumps as you do. You could also use a blunt garden hand rake. After a few days they should be dry enough to sift. Pull as many worms out as you can before spreading and continue to remove more as the castings dry a bit. Don’t let them dry completely, just enough to work with. If you take a small amount, gently squeeze into a ball it should hold together until you poke it, then it should start breaking apart. If it doesn’t break up let it dry a bit more, if it falls apart as soon as you open your hand then it’s too dry and the worms let behind might start dying as will some of the wonderful microbes, cocoons will be fine.
      I hope this comes soon enough and your able to have some nice castings to use. Sticky castings can still be used but it’s impossible to sift out the worms, although you can remove them with the “light method”.

    I love worm farm video's. This one did not work for me as the poor fellow kept getting interrupted and not given ample time to explain any aspect of the farm.
