Great tutorial! I'd like to add: When there's a lot of wind, it's possible to put your feet in the footstraps and then lift. You'll not catapult then, but immediately plane away. Even with very little power, if you manage to hook in the harness while in the water. I learned this when I had not much power left and was still not ready to end a great high wind session :-)
just can add 2 things
1. if the sale is upwind you can use a top of the must up lift the sail
2. if the clue sank downwind this is the only case when the easier will be to uphole
as usually great video Will, keep going
I've been watching windsurfing videos since CZcams started and never seen these moves for waterstarting. Excellent Skills - thanks for passing them on!
Thank you very much friend .Nice video
Thanks Will! Great tutorial! Straight to the point, full of useful tips. I still cannot do the waterstart from deep waters (very close though), so lets see if these tips will make a difference!
Great demonstration!
How to waterstart, where to waterstart, when to waterstart, and how to feel after you waterstart. Will covered it all! 🤙
Great video. Perfect pace.
Loving this. Thanks as always!
great tutorial covered almost every possibly cases 👍
Complete guide! Great! :-) thanks
Excellent! Thank you
Sehr gut
great video thanks
One of my goals for this year :-). Great video!🤙
Easily learn to Waterstart by sitting in water just over fin-depth with back foot on the board. Let the sail lift you then sheet out a bit to stop being pulled forwards over the board.
Best Tutorial
You fucking know how to waterstart man! 😉🔥
I did not know the fin waterstart.. thank you
I have tried also light wind waterstart grabbing the sail with the back hand, never succeeded. I can put the sail in position but cannot go on the bord. What is the key for success ?
I actually have never tried to light wind water start that way, I will usually just stand on the board and pull the sail up from the water by grabbing the mast. I will give it a proper go and try to make a video about it.
How about light wind waterstarts on less than 100ltr. (sinker) board? i.e.- holding mast and sail bottom. Lots of YT vid for high wind waterstarts but nothing when you need it most - getting back when wind dies🤐🥺
Thats a really good idea, I may need some practice myself but I'll add light wind waterstarts to the list
@@willnicholls5 most critical skills to have when shortboarding...HOW TO GET BACK😆🙄
Have you heard about Hawaian water start? It’s very useful to get up on board in light wind conditions
i checked out a lot of waterstart tutorials and this one is the winner
:)
