I hope this means no more of the tedious flashbacks and we get something new. the idea of people inspired by the crimes could be enough of a link for a good film.
Don't worry the director said this isn't a reboot neither is it directly connected to Saw but is in the Saw universe in a certain timeline! It's a spinoff! My guess this copy cat Jigsaw, instead of targeting evil it targets good! Kinda like Anti-Jigsaw or Reverse Jigsaw!

If it wasn't for tobin bells great acting in the series this movie wouldn't even be happening he made this whole franchise what it is today. So he deserves atleast a small role in this movie true saw fans know this.

Samuel L. Jackson is boring since the last 5-10 years in movies offering the same blatant one liners . Has the same kinda character/role .
He was good in the 80's & 90's and a bit before 2005 . After that meh....bleh .
That is kinda the idea with some actors? Dwayne Johnson always is this funny action hero type of guy, Will Ferrel is a sensible yet funny type, etc. That is the idea, because they are great at those types of characters.

Mark Hoffman died is easy to understand no need for a sequel .
Doctor Gordon and the other unknown pig apprentices seen at the end of Saw 7 ( 3D ) went all doing their usual shit in real life .
No need for new sequels after Saw 7 since everything was clearly said . It's a bit complicated but you need to watch the movies a few times to understand how easy the plot was constructed .
Jigsaw ( Saw 8 ) and this new movie offers nothing new on the table . They're hidden reboots/remakes with the Politically Correctness, Feminism, LGBT behind .
As for Chris Rock i hate that actor , his role in Leathal Weapon 4 ruined the whole movie with his presence . It was enough with one comedic character Joe Pesci so not a second one with lame jokes from Chris .

True thats also why the last Star Wars trilogy is done for me .
The first seconds from the trailer from Star Wars 7 : The Force Awakens showing us a black actor in a stormtrooper suit was too much . They could easily avoid that instead to put the excuse card Politically Correctness .
Also guess newer generations don't know there was a "blacksploitation movie genre" at all . It should have stayed that way imo .

If someone can,lets explain: the game in saw 2 was before the game in saw 1? And games in saw 3 and 4 became in samè time? The time is comfusing in Saw
they're mostly in order with one or two exceptions:
Saw 3 & 4 happened at the same time
The Barn Games from Jigsaw was (chronologically) the first game

I think a lot of people are giving this movie undeserved shit just because it's produced by Chris Rock and Tobin Bell won't be in it. I don't think it's fair to categorize an Actor as only being able to act in one kind of role (shit just look at Chris Hemsworth going from Thor to Extraction) and i'm genuinely hype to see Chris Rock take on a more serious role.
