The Fellowship of The ring series has finally begun! (I might need to start calling this Tolkien Tuesdays instead of Middle Earth Mondays!) I started with my favourite character of the Fellowship, but comment below to let me know who I should do for next week! I will be covering the orignal series of the Nine Companions, but if Middle Earth Mondays continue into the future the way I hope, there will be battle reports of the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game and more tutorials covering different versions of the characters!

FAQ:Adding a light spray of Grey Seer over a full coat of black primer adds a small amount of texture to the primer which gives the contrast paint more to grip on to. It also adds light and shadows which helps define the model more.

Having contrast paints back then would've been nice. I built a helms deep Battlefield out of paper mache over foam from an old hot tub lid lol. This Legolas sculpt proudly defended those ramparts. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Andy!

Yay! Middle Earth Monday! Legolas looks great. Gimli was always my favorite member of the Fellowship as I've always been partial to dwarves. He's followed closely by Sam.

been waiting too long for this series! I have my Balins tomb and all 9 bases painted up over 6 months now! haha
Followed your guide as close as I could with the colours I had on hand and even went a bit further with some highlights. Still only took me the guts of 4 hours to complete, including a long break while the Seraphim Sepia dried! Great evenings work!

I have only painted an Aragorn so far and that in an alternative paint scheme so he can stand in for one of my RPG characters

It really depends what skin tone your after. But there are specific paints designed for it.
