    I just found your channel last night, and I have to say I really enjoy your videos. It's neat to see just how much wood you guys save out, a lot more than I've seen otherwise. Not to mention the level of skill the operator has, which is incredible!

    That is just amazing that you can get such good thick long timber and that machinery can handle it to fell, haul and process it. Great skills demonstrated all round from you, your brothers and your staff.

    I'm a logger in northern Wisconsin and we cut pulp wood almost all hard wood. we use a processor and everything is cut to 8' and down to 4" diameter small end. it must be nice to have long pulp wood like you guys do. keep up the good work brother be safe!

      @cotontop3  Před 8 lety

      +Ryan Seppanen You're right, it is very nice not to have to cut it up into 8' pieces. 10' is about as short as you will see anything here. Thanks for the view and the comment!

    Some fine machine operating skills right there! Good to that y'all use as much wood as possible too. That's always a good thing, get as much out of a tree as possible. Talk about a massive poplar though! Dang brotha!

  • @GreatLakesLogger

    I cut trees as big as that poplar all the time with a H7 that weighs half as much as that Waratah and about half the size. Plus we have to cut to length and utilize better.

    heck of an operation, BUT , you could cut the butt end of those trees for him , so those skidders aren't sitting. I know you where filming! I just can stand seeing sitting with full grapples!! Stay safe , knock on it!!!!

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  Před 8 lety

      I do help him cut up a lot if we're running stuff like that and I have several videos on here with me doing that. This video is for Waratah to show just how big of a hardwood tree you can work with it. Thank you for the view and the comment.

    Super bummer to have skidders waiting... sometimes that's the way it is, but I look for alternative solutions. They can deck nearby usually, and processor moves there when skidding gets tougher/longer. Owners usually do same, so I'd assume it's not possible here. 568 operator

    That's the way it ought to be but 9 9 out of 100 places you try and go the extra mile they will downgrade you and say you're sucking up or just trying to make them look bad. I've worked for a very few in my 40+ years that appreciated it but mostly they'd just stick their nose up at you. I've come to the conclusion that the Bible is right and I'm supposed to go the extra mile and look after someone else's wealth because I'm working for God Almighty and He says to do everything as unto HIM. All the rest don't count. Glad yall have a good crew. Ain't nothing better.

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  Před 8 lety

      Doesn't matter on those because they're being cut by a top diameter.
