For a long time I thought of this tune whenever it snowed. It's the perfect music for a gentle, lazy snowfall. Thanks for posting this and helping me remember.
Turns out actor John Corbett out stole the entire radio station board, mic and equipment from the NX Redwood studio. He also stole the sword, the Maurice head, a moose head, the puppet Esau, and most all of the clothes Chris wore.
Hey thanks so much for uploading this gem! I've been looking all over for another song in this album but can't find it. It's "Medley: A Funeral In My Brain/Woody The Indian/The Tellakutans." I wonder if you have it and if you could either upload it as well, or if you could send it to me? That would be tremendously appreciated.
Agree. There's a song in Season 3, Episode 12 that I'm positive is David Schwartz, can't find it.... I have "Music From Northern Exposure", "More Music From Northern Exposure". It's the one where Joel is griping about being gifted a goat.
I think this was also used as the theme for "This Old House" on PBS. I might very well be mistaken, having not watched TOH often as a boy, but it feels right.
I have always liked this tune. Do you have any information on the musicians? I had the CD you show, but its now added to my Apple Music Library and the CD is gone. I don't recall that there was much info on the players on the CD though...
This brings back memories. I love this show and its use of music.
that brings back harmony x

You are a legend for finding this original version. A LEGEND. Thank you.
Glad you added it because today, I came looking just for this!
Me too.
Me too
Brian Wilson bliss, and so beautiful that his daughter Lucy used one of his melodies for her (stunning) album.
Fantastic song
Thank you, I was just looking for this.
Chris in the morning 👍

Nope. TOH originally used Fats Waller's rendition of "Louisiana Fairy Tale."

This is the song in the original show that was playing when Ed and Ruth Anne were dancing on the grave?
I thought the original was “Dancing on the Grave” by David Schwartz.
