Why do foul hooked fish count?
I wonder the same...
Foul hooked fish has always counted in all pro tournament. Because the fish swiped at the bait and hooked themselves. Intentional snagging is not permitted. When sight fishing fish have to be hooked inside the mouth. Because you are looking at the fish and could potentially snag it on purpose. Bed fishing would be an example. If a fish swims over to inspect a bait it does not like in its nest. A person could jerk and snag a fish with out it actually striking the bait.
How does one become a pro angler?
Get out there, fish as much as you can, learn as much as you can and watch things like this to learn what they say, do, etc... For a "newby" of course, no offense haha

Best fishin' I've ever done is Coast of NC and lakes and creeks of WV. Never fished Texas myself, but it doesn't seem to be "trash". A lot of people call a lot of things "trash" but I don't see it that way. But, to each their own, I suppose. Now I live in Central Florida and I've become addicted to saltwater fishin.

I find the MFL format to be kind of boring. I watch a little at a time. Still prefer BASS. It could just be that I can relate to BASS better. Because that the format of tournaments I fish.
