@@Versifyer Remember 1) He's never had time to be a solo beatboxer, beatboxes for a country-ish/soul/pop always touring group concert + 10 min. solo each night. 2) Began as a singer in church, when his bro. Chris dragged him into becoming an a cappella group (he loved from techno, rock, classical, pop, soul) in Minn. (both multi-instrumentalists). 3) He learned to bbox before UTube "How To" vids + practice in clubs like vs a drummer, sitting in w/local bands playing diff. instruments, all between still "hobby" gigs, (was hard getting a cappella started) WHILE goung to college. Playing trumpet helped him a lot w/creating sounds/stamina..They weren't a full-paid touring grp till 2007. 4) Some of his fav. bboxers back in early 2000's were Beardyman, Rahzel, Reeps One, Tom Thumb. 4) Said "vomit bboxing" is hardest to learn. 5) If he had time to be a solo bboxer.....who knows what he could do, but in meantime, Home Free's chl: 1+ Mill. subs they deserve!!

The thing with Adam Rupp is that he isn't just a beatboxer. He's an *entertainer*. He sings as well and holds his own with a group of trained vocalists. He did probably the most layered, complex a cappella arrangement ever -- Home Free's "Do You Hear What I Hear?" Heck, he even learned the Korean lyrics to "Gangnam Style" for a throwaway bit HF did in their stage show. He's multitalented and is the heartbeat of Home Free. There might be people who are technically better beatboxers, but what he contributes to Home Free is unbeatable.

Adam is pretty awesome, particularly when you consider that he's self-taught, and basically took up beat-boxing because he was starting a vocal group for the church talent show with his brother and his friends, and decided he'd rather do that than sing... Of course, an important thing is that his primary purpose is to be the drumkit and sound effects for a group - I've no doubt that there are beat-boxers out there who can do wilder things, but that's not what he's trying to achieve.

Believe it or not, Adam is self-taught. In one of the behind the scenes videos on Home Free's channel, we go into his house and he shows us the first book he used to learn basic beatboxing. Apparently, his brother, Chris, was also learning, but Adam was so much better that he starting doing the beatboxing for the group. He has obviously improved greatly since the group was founded in 2000/2001. It is my understanding that he has won awards for his beatboxing, too.
He also taught the other members of Home Free some basic beatboxing which can be seen in the video of their live performance of 9 to 5 with the beatboxing breakdown. You might want to check it out just for fun.

Thom (Tom) Thumb also does Billy Jean with the singing.
Didgeridoo is a thin log or branch that, traditionally, was fire treated and allowed to be hollowed out but termites. Any holes left were filled in with wax. It is then "blown" into like a brass instrument and those who can really master it can breath in while still blowing (circular breathing). When done correctly it is amazing and can be continued for long periods.
This is, by no means, Adams full repertoire but I'm looking forward to part two.
I will be objective but will also be listening to see how well I think your guy would fit into a group as well as the solo performance.

    Okay Final Thoughts:
Hard to compare first and foremost for multiple reasons!
1 Poor video and sound quality on the video! Felix Wins!
2 Genre's they each play! Adam Wins
3 Amount of time playing! Adam Wins
4 Cool Cricket-like sound! Felix Wins
    5 Dancing! Adam Wins
6 Entertaining because of the concert setting! Adam Wins
    7 Entertaining Short! Felix Wins
8 Drum Clarity Sounds! Adam Wins
If looking solely at these points Adam Wins!
Okay now with all the additional information that I know on Adam:
Sounds that I can remember right now that he can make are:
    "Woody Woodpecker" sounds
    Harmonica sounds
    Castenets sound
Plays Drums in reverse (seen on other Live Fan Videos)
    Bass Sounds
    Etc!
To me it's clearly a Win for Adam but remember what I said above hard to compare them!
