- Just as Edna was about to become a full-fledged nurse, she discovered that she was losing her hearing. Unable to hear her cancer patients fully, she was faced with the question: Could she still be an effective nurse, or would she do more harm than good?

We appreciate stories like this. They're extremely meaningful.
Nurses and doctors are ones of the most honourable jobs. They take care of others’ families but they could not do the same to their own families or they’ll be redemeed as unprofessional. Appreciate them.
Sadly most of the time, nurses are under appreciated. There are doctors look down on nurses. Imagine nurses also have to face violent patients. Theres cases of patients kicked pregnant nurse right at her pregnant belly. Or spit on nurses. Molest. Its tough.
Not all doctors, tbh
@@buttercookiecloud1910please protect our nurses 🙏
their salary don't reflect the appreciation.
@@buttercookiecloud1910 Doctors who LOOK DOWN on nurses SHOULD NOT study for their MBBS in first place. Such a doctor is a USELESS QUACK
She has such a heart of gold, with maturity beyond her years. Salute Edna! I hope your patients appreciate your care for them as much as your resolve to serve in your calling.
What more can a mum asked for? You are a filial daughter and a true nightingale that takes care of patients. I am sure mum is so proud of her daughter and watching over you.
Thank you so much for all the hard work
She was my primary and secondary school senior, and I knew she has been doing great since a young age. So proud of her
💯♥️😘👍🏽Im proud of her
That took the air out of my lungs. Even with the way she said it, in that calm, collected demeanor with maturity well beyond her age, I felt her loss.
The execution of this video is first class as is with all the others of the channel.
She deserves respect and salute!
Edna...you are such a Florence Nightingale. Working so hard as a nurse w hearing loss yet you are so motivated to give yr love to the dying. A great daughter...seeing , caring n loving mum till the end. She' v fortunate to hv such a wonderful daughter but unfortunate to contract cancer.
I'm a retired nurse. Also loved nursing...so rewarding. I had cancer 3x , colon to liver. After op n chemo i did return to nursing until age 72.
Going thru chemo...n treated as one of the patient was not easy. We made good nurses esp when you hv gone thru the treatment.
Pray we hv good dedicated nurses. God bless. Edna wish you good health, happiness, peace n joy.
As a nurse myself, she's truly such an inspiration. I'm really thankful that her nurse manager didn't look down on her just because of her hearing impairment. If not it would have been a great loss to the nursing industry. I hope more and more people can become part of the healthcare team despite having some form of physical impairment.
very brave. a true hero.
i started to tear up when I heard that she took care of her mother until her last day, thank you for sharing your story Edna.
Our medical professionals are some of our national's treasures - they're doing very key and noble duties by serving the public and the nation. I hope MOH and health minister takes it seriously to take care of them and truly care about their well-being by addressing their burnout concerns rather than just throw cheap words that sound good
Hi Enda, your mom is so proud of you.
Thank you for your selfless service. It may not go noticed all the time, but it would always be appreciated by the ones you have impacted.
Beautiful, inside and out. Thank you for all that you do ❤
Nurses are extremely respectable professions.
a very memorable video
the most notable was about the mother and her until her mother's last breath and the mother said she felt safe with her. 💞❤❤
am sure the mother is very proud of her
all the way! jiayou!
Thank you, Edna. Appreciate your courage and strength.
Beautiful, strong, resilient girl ❤ Hope for more stories like this

You are a angel filling with love , kind n beautiful ❤ may you stay strong n believe what you do. Many blessings 🙏 .
Enda, your compassionate heart is very admirable
Same here. I lost left hearing due to a brain tumour. Now I'm only running on my right ear.
Thanks for story like this. Stay strong and help others. Sis Edna. We are rooting for you
Such a beautiful Angel. So proud of her. 1 in a million for sure. Respect.
Sending my deepest condolences on the loss of your mum. You’re such a strong and amazing soul Edna ❤ I am tearing up after hearing the story

This is the kind of story that inspires us to move on!
Deep respect to this nurse. As a regular paitent of SGH, i want to thank you for your contributions.
Love you more after knowing your passion of being a nurse. Jia you beautiful and lovely nurse
Bless your good heart! If only the world had more people like you
She really has the resilience to be a nurse! Imagine getting through the worst pandemic and still staying motivated. Those who are not passionate about nursing would have move on during the burn out at the height of the pandemic. Not forgetting that they are way underpaid compared to doctors.
You’ve gone thru so much. And still your standing strong. You’re such a inspiration. Thank you very much for sharing your story
Thank you for your service
What a sweet lady
heart of gold, really.

Well done!
謝謝照顧者們的無私奉獻和關懷!❤
I know what she means, I have been deaf since my teens, and it can be very well hard to concentrate sometimes. But she is very dedicated. I work with in emergency and it’s very hard . She is a good and kind nurse.
Touching video and thank for sharing your story. Strong and brave girl .辛苦你💪🏻 🫡
At work at Ng Teng Fong as linen attendant every time have to exchange push heavy trolley so is actually not easy working in hospital 😢
Ur mum will be soooo proud 😊

Matcha Fang!!!! It's you!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for being a great front liner!!
I have bilateral both ears hearing loss, I only wear hearing aid in my right ear because hearing aid is too expensive, I am jobless right now, its so hard to cope up and Im prone to error. I have a daughter and it makes me want to die because of my disability. I'm so exhausted at everything.
You will never walk Alone . Same here.....
Such an Inspiration, Edna!
I want to study biomedical technology so that in the future no mothers would have to die because of a lack of organ donors or a lack of organ-replacement therapy. Thank you for this video.
respect
She is a fine lady
You have my respect despite the challenge you face and it is not an easy job
so pretty sad hearing lost
❤
Is she the only deaf/hearing impaired nurse in Singapore? Because I had tried to apply for career conversion to nursing when I was in my early 30s but was rejected due to my profound hearing loss.
So this is what a superhero really looks like...
❤❤❤
Jia you !
🥰🥰
JIAYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey with a hearing aid she can still do her job! let's all encourage and empower people with disabilities esp when they have passion/heart for what they do :)
would
Angels in white
Salute to this nurse, but it would be wise to change job and do more desk bound role where it’s much easier to communicate in the phone and laptop/computer.. so as to avoid misunderstanding…
There’s ways/accommodations in place I’m sure to be able to help Edna do her job if she’s having trouble as there should be,not to mention since she seems quite capable where she is as well as good at her role her supervisors must trust her and are aware of her situation and assist her in whatever ways they can;one can absolutely adapt to the circumstances we find ourselves in and though we may not do the tasks in the same way as everyone else around us doesn’t mean a person should or needs to switch their roles to make others feel better.
All roads in life end in death. Why make life difficult for each other?
Matcha fang! She's very cute! Follow her when she was doing tiktok. Hope she's doing ok tho 😢
Ohhh it's the tiktoker matcha
Great story, and good video. Think the title could use a little tweaking though. SSN Choy can hear... She just uses a hearing aid is all. Nurse with a listening ear? Etc etc
👍🏻👍🏻 great suggestion
if this is malaysia hospital confirm no such efficiency .i dare it ..all expecting visitors and guardians to be the one taking care
🫡
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌈🌈🌈
A nurse is just a pair of hands then. Degree is too much for it.
