I believe it was just due to them being awkward young men, but Twitter misconstrued it and painted them as "predators". Since then Shawn has changed the TPW format to only include him and Charlotte in an effort to keep the channel safe from controversy. This along with those other reasons has definitely made TPW different from its glory days. Nothing against Charlotte, but she isn't exactly the best co-host compared to say Alex or Martin. I wish Shawn would be more trusting and allow his friends to to appear now and then in the vlogs.
