I mainly rock the dumpster diving scene but can be found digging through trash curbside as well as scavenging the river bottoms for lost treasures in the summer months. Join me on my epic voyages!

In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Be sure to stay subscribed to stay up to date with my latest expeditions, y'all! - Zábava
Since I was 14 years old, my dad and I would cruise neighborhoods on trash day. Almost all of the furniture in our house came from trash day. I learned how to reupholster furniture, how to strip and refinish wooden tables, weld, and more skills than I can’t count. I’m now 65 years old and am set for life (thanks to my 25 years at a private owned company going public 10 days before I retired.). Despite this windfall, I STILL drive slowly through our neighborhood on trash day and still pick things I can fix and use. Drives my wife crazy!
Quick followup… we have a 25 year old Natuzzi all leather couch with foot rests on each end. Although it is getting a little long in the tooth and most people would haul it out to the curb, I’ve been restoring it from top to bottom. Today, a Natuzzi that matches ours goes for about $4,000 (we paid $1,200 for it and a lounge chair in 1996 from an outlet store). I have repaired all of the mechanicals and am about to tackle the sanding and staining using Natuzzi stains (you can still buy them!). The ONLY change I won’t make is replacing the cushions as they are now molded to both me and my wife’s body form. The rest will have the new finish but all of the wrinkles will still be there. Friend think we’re crazy “just buy a new one”. They don’t get it. Mike the scavenger is a kindred spirit.
Wives will hate anything that makes their husbands, even themselves 😂
Mike, I scrap e-waste in Canada and there is good money in it. Motherboard, ram, cpu,pci cards have not only gold but many other precious metals. Hard drives are a big item as the base is solid aluminum, the small circuit board has a bunch of gold and the list goes on. Keyboards have a whole film of silver in them. We get .40 cents a pound for cases as sheet steel and untouched motherboards will fetch you $20 bucks each but the secret is quantity like 75 motherboards.
"I hope not the clap" I almost choked on my lunch....too funny!
5:32 "Come up big guy, it's ok, aww it's ok" 😭😂😀😂👍. My MTS quote of the day!
Lmao
The box at 18.15 had "Ferrari Harnesses" written on it 😉
One thing I've noticed, Mike, is how quickly you're able to get in and out of the dumpsters. You're a lot more agile than when I first started watching the channel.
5:33 spring cuddle lullaby cracked me up! Mike, keep killing it, brother! You never disappoint 👍
A window into how he is with his pooches .
I don't know where it comes from. My brain is so random some times.
Mike you have a beautiful mind I like the way it works .
@@MikeTheScavenger You must have a junkyard for yourself because you only show a yard run when you stop getting views
@@mmill6505 I seriously doubt that his views go down, especially because he's not doing a scrap yard run...you would have to view the video to see if he goes there or not. He has hundreds of older videos to watch if you want to see the scrap runs. He explained to us (a couple of times) why he's not showing it much anymore. The more money he was making, the more competition he was getting. And although he didn't specifically tell us, this IS a cash business, meaning it's hard for the IRS to prove how much income you're making from your "side job" unless you're making video PROOF of additional income! Mike's a smart man, he gives his fans more than enough entertainment without letting everyone know how much money he makes.
**If anyone watched his garage sales, he never told us how much he made on those either, his wife even asked him specifically NOT to.
Another awesome video from America's favorite scraper Mike the Scavenger. 😃😃
I have to say Mike always finds the coolest stuff. 🤔😊
“We can break some stuff if you want?” Our answer, ALWAYS!
You Da Man Mike!!!! Rock on Brother
That pink helium tank in the first dumpster is something I would have considered grabbing. It had the valve still on it, use that to make sure everything's out and there's usually a spot where you can punch into it with a screwdriver to safely pierce and make safe.
Dude I'm sorry but I burst out laughing when u slipped off that bucket and your laugh after was classic. Keep up saving the earth 1 piece of scrap at a time!
A good haul of completely random stuff...
That wiring harness for the car was a Ferrari harness it said on the card board box when you opened it, must be top quality
I would like to see more of that teleporting stuff in more of ur video's that sure was a cool way to make it look interesting for all of us.
Constant commentary through entire video informing us of everything you see, that’s what sets you apart from others, makes the watch enjoyable
Ya, he does it like he's doing Parkour! You go, Mike!
You're so funny Mike. Lol. Hugging your slinky.
Dang Mike, that "Go Kit" sells for $35 at my local shop! It is the fittings to service a pool pump!
OMG love watching you always a smile if not a giggle here and there
Mike I am happy to hear you mention looking into those boards. I would grab a few of your bins and throw them in especially the ones with gold fingers. Lots of videos that will show you what is worth collecting but it’s straight up easy money for you. There is another place that pays the shipping and pays better than boardsort,
The fact you love what you're doing, you infect us with the good and the happy and that's a whole lot better that the negative anger that's been coming out lately. Thanks for helping to heal the world Mike.🤙🏻🤘🏻👍🏻
U nailed it!
True - Mike is always in a good lighthearted mood. We could all benefit from following his example!!
Let’s help get Mikey 500,000 subscribers. Let’s help a Texas brother out. Texas go big or go home. Let’s help Mikey go Texas big.!!!!
Mike puttin the smackdown on all those dumpsters!
Mike the Scavenger for Man of the Year Award. Saving metals from the landfill
You missed a golden opportunity to grab that mike and say "car 54 where you?". Really enjoy watching you.
Breaker... Breaker... Where's the convoy?
Much better haul than magnet fishing...
I wish that I could come across some of those 10 gal pool buckets! My husband and I could use them for so many things!
Mike you make my day when I watch you. Thanks for being you.
You were in rare form today. Funny stuff. Thanks for the laughs.
Love the video. Need another sorting and prepping everything for the scrap yard. That love affair with the spring was cute. I had one break on my garage door. Glad I wasn't in the garage when it happened.
Holy cow!!! Got that right another good one. Thanks Mike!!
I am also very happy when I find chunks of brass and copper in the dumpsters.

*** EPISODE IDEA *** Hey Mike. Long time watcher. We love your show. I have always wondered what goes on inside the scrapyard. Like, do they melt the scrap down. It would be cool if you could take us on a tour of the place you sell your scrap to. Thanks SB.
Scrapyard sell it on to smelters.
As a child in the 60's my friends and I would go around with an pram and collect scrap and old rags to take to the scrapyard. I loved having all those big old pennies that dropped into my dirty hands.
Pram... Gollee, Ah ain't done heard that since the 1930s! 😀😀😀
@@markfurman4386 I don’t know Mark, with your name I’m not sure I’d be teasing other people. YOU surely got some ribbing after a certain trial. My guess was that Roy is from the UK where that term is fairly common. Cheers 😉
@@dianna3157 It's ok, Dianna. I LIKE the Brits. I really do. I just wish the BRITISH would learn to speak ENGLISH. 🙂🙂🙂
@@markfurman4386 LOL
I have dual citizenship and my husband asks me all the time to translate when we're watching TV. He's kind of a smartass too. LOL
@@markfurman4386 yeah they use pram for baby carrige. we use too years ago just like we used the word petroel for gas, and biscuit for cookies. The English language has so many different spelled words but are pronounced the same. Example bale @ Bail.
I can’t believe how much fun I have watching your videos. But it makes me crazy that you don’t park your truck closer to the dumpsters.
Mike you are a riot bro you make scrapping funny keep it up
We should not be so judgemental on you Mike, geez you work hard to build your channel🫣
Something satisfying when a motor hits the ground. I like the sound it makes.
Not to shabby hey Mike😂 goodness gracious great balls of fire!!
That Motorola thing you grab look like a ancient analog cell phone. One of the first to come out AKA bag phone.
Another entertaining video. Thank you for sharing.
The box you found these car harnesses in was labelled as FERRARI Harnesses!!
Great run Mike, thanks Mike your so entertaining...
The Morpheus chair is made out of Naugahyde. Some would say the a chair like that is worth more than if it was made from leather. None the less, if it was a English made chair it would have been worth hundreds!!!
Keep killing it mike!!!
Love the subtle Lil' Troy - Wanna Be A Baller reference
When I see people digging in my trash cans. I say, " you see anything good in there?". Some days they say " nah just cans and bottles,". I don't know why people get mad. It all ends up at the dump anyway!
If something can be recycled why be rude or funny about it? Good for people like Mike who recycle and make money from it! 🙌👏
All my metal goes to the scrap yard. Might as well get a little $ for my own stuff. I just wait until I have a truckload to take in. Always bring some copper/brass to make the trip worthwhile.
I all ways yell “GET OUT OF THEIR!” But I promise you I am totally joking. Which I usually make clear, depending on their reaction. Sorry it’s just who I am. I would all so jump in most dumpsters if I saw a shiny quarter, I ain’t going to lie. Not a proud man 🙃
I think people get mad because it's private property and if they get hurt believe it or not the owner can get sued . Even if they don't win it'll still cost the owner time and money to fight it.
LoL, what we catch?!
You make nice videos soothes the mind
Oh SNAP, that looks like a Queen Ann chair. Usually, their a expensive chair and one of the best sitting chairs youll sit in.
Yah dah yah dah yah dah !!! Love love love love this one so much wires and cords today that cut up tub !!! Thanks for taking us along !!!! Tag along anyday!!!!
Right on, Mike! Thanks for sharing! Peace.... 💜💙💜
Slinky hug OMG only you can get away with that humour🤣 made me chuckle anyway
good haul Mike, hope all is well with you brother, just got my trash panda & dumpster juice tee shirts today 👍
I think that,
Snippets Little Snippets
Might look good on a T shirt
I love watching your videos, never a dull moment!😂
Way2go Mike. That's a good hole today my friend. Please take care you stay safe out there, ok. 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎

Okay ,that's was cute with the teleportation thing .!!

I remember eating moon pies when I was a kids....so many years ago...be safe and watch your head
You always show the hustle in you Mike. You're the only channel I always give a thumbs up to.
Thanks Mike!
Thanks again Mike
Nice haul again sir Mike just keep safe always
Well, if security is watching you on the cameras there’s no way they’re coming out to confront the guy in the dumpster hugging the giant slinky.
you made me spit my coffee out when you missed the truck so badly and then said totally missed the truck LOVE your videos!!! TFS
The slinky clip, ha ha Love your energy.
Mike…. Master scrapper level!
Hey Mike, getter done, get that scrap, good luck 👍 😉
We use those desk style chairs in shooting houses. We found a dumpster slam full of those and the metal folding chairs and we emptied that jewel out and to be honest we need another one just like it to have enough for all the shooting houses. It makes it a lot easier with kids when you got a half comfortable chair to sit in
Nice job with the teleportation that was cooli
Boxes of all Kinds of Radio Goodies - great Find ! Another Evening of Odds and Sorts ! We had Fun ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
Good video tonight. What a variety!!
I’ve got an outlet for all the buckets I can bring in and clean up. If they have screw on lids they go for a little more. Usually about a buck a gallon with snap on lids and 1.5 to 2 bucks a gallon with screw on lids. Those pool chemical buckets usually have screw in lids too.
Im a plumber. 2 worst jobs i ever had was changing 2 toilets in the same apartment building. Lifting them was like grabbing a stick of butter with a hard center.
Looks good Mike!
Love your teleportations ;-)
Kurt Russell and Wilford Brimley in the 1982 "The Thing." Great movie with a small number of characters.
