    It’s so cool to see all the different things they would do to the same car. My family friend FINALLY let hers go. Most fun driving a car.

      Sad to see it go, I'm sure. Thus cars are really fun.

    the MANU button is only for the 2nd gear. It doesn't work with others.
    1 - obviously this button is not needed here. If you set this gear, your transmission will never upshift regardless of the transmission mode.
    2 - this gear is where you need this button. If you need your transmission not to downshift to 1, you can lock this gear, it will always stay in 2.
    D - as I tested, you can't lock the 3 or 4 gear, the ECU won't let you do that. It also doesn't keep your car at a lower rpm as many say. Or maybe my ECT is broken.

    If you manually down and up shift you are over riding the manu switch. Better test is to leave the car in drive with overdrive on then on the stop toggle between no switch pwr and Manu you'll notice that Manu keep the car in a lower rpm and pwr at a high rpm at least for Japanese models

    I think it might be useful when you're pulling a trailor so you don't abuse the engine and/or gearbox on the lower revs

      These cars aren't meant for towing. If you do use them for that, it better be a really light load

      @@theOGRAV4 I'd used this (1st) Gen (admittedly with manual gearbox) to move all my stuff, including furniture and a motorcycle, on a 2000 miles' trip TWICE, and the car still purs like a kitten (some 10 000k down the line. So if you're strictly taking about the automatic version then it may well be the case, however, the 1 gen in manual is a go-everywhere and do everything car and I absulutely love those. I am currently on my 3rd and I only changed them due to other than a failure reasons.

      This is Raptor Liner, not auto paint. It is the protecting Coat that they put on the beds of trucks to protect them 🤘

    Hi I know this has nothing to do with this video but I'm just asking. I have a 1998 Rav 4 (I'm in jamaica so it's right hand drive) my speedometer and Odometer stopped working, do you by chance know where I can get a one used or replacement etc?

      You could go tona junkyard. There is also a website called toyotaparts.com, I just don't know if they ship internationally.

    I have these buttons in my Manual Transmission Rav4 1996 model as well. What does it do in the manual transmission?

      @meurangaweerasingha4248 wow. I never knew they came in a manual also. This is really weird, given that the MANU button gives you the ability to hold the gear for as long as you want in an automatic, and will hold it until your manually shift gears. The POWR button is the same as ECT button, but again, these are meant for automatic transmissions. Any chance you have a picture??

      @@meurangaweerasingha4248 you can send it to theograv4@gmail.com. I'm really curious because a manual transmission by itself already gives you the same features that those two buttons give you in an automatic.

    Can i get the dif lock with the auto trans ?

    • @theOGRAV4
      @theOGRAV4  Před rokem +3

      No. The manual differential lock was only available in the manual transmission models. That said, the automatics have the same capability through a viscous coupling, meaning that the car does it for you.
