This is a such a lovely design and the technique is much more simple than I imagined, as always when I learn from you. I really like this stitch because it makes the columns of herringbone so much more apparent by adding such a nice finishing touch, even where the inclusions are all the same size throughout. My mind is whirling with bead combo ideas!
I also really like how you tapered the ends with brick stitch instead of sewing on a ready-made metal clasp the same width or similar to the width of the herringbone columns. Previous to watching this tutorial, I never saw how to end my herringbone. It's nice to know that I was doing it correctly all along with brick stitch. However, I never tapered the ends before. I will be from now on. It's a much nicer way to end a bracelet. It's like having a nicely thinned or feathered hair cut as compared to a blunt cut for long hair, IE softer and more professionally finished.
You made such a great point to add a separate thread length for sewing on the clasp. No worrying about the whole bracelet end coming apart in the event that the clasp wears out and the clasp thread breaks. I seriously never thought about it that way. I'm always trying to get the most out of the thread I've used to put the project together. Miserly, I guess. ;) Thanks for that tip too!
And finally, thanks for sharing the technique and your lovely design.

I always love your color choices. Herringbone is my favorite stitch. You should try the super duo herringbone. It is so much fun. The way I learned to turn around on flat herringbone is: when you have gone down and your thread is out of the bead. Go up through the bead beside it, then up through the last bead you added. It’s a “Z” pattern. I hope I explained that well. However when I discovered the add a bead on the side. It was was the greatest day!

This is one gorgeous bracelet-it might convince me to try and stitch one. You named several reasons why I have shied away from bracelet projects for quite some time...too small, too big, can't get the closure right, etc. So frustrating to stitch the entire bracelet only to have it not fit, and be disappointed with the finish.... Hahah, I thought it was my stomach that growled!! Thanks, Stephanie, for sharing the instructions and the helpful hints for this lovely bracelet with us.

Practice makes perfect lol 😂 I’ve been there! If it’s too small then you can add a larger clasp or add a longer loop at one end. So I guess err on the side of a little too small?

@@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry That was absolutely my strategy going in this time...what I finally ended up doing might be a little weird, but it worked! lol I wound up have a thread at both ends as I finished up with the brick stitch, going back and forth from one end to the other to keep the ends even and matching as I fine tuned the fit. But, I finally got a bracelet I can wear, without it falling off, or fitting too loosely. Thank you for your encouragement, and for the wonderful tutorials. If not for your marvelous camera work, and clear instructions, I would never have dared start seed beeding. Thank you.

it seems to me that this is the first time that you have offered us a non-original bracelet, i.e. seen on other CZcams beads channels 😕 it "saddens" me because I have a high regard for you ...

This is a stitch that is used by many bead weavers. The fact that you have seen it on other CZcams channels shows this. Teaching stitches and techniques of all beading levels is what we do here😄 Please, there are so many things to be sad about - learning a new stitch shouldn’t be one of them 😁🙏💗 You also insulted me in an earlier comment on my playlists. We should be supporting one another not insulting one another! I support you always in whatever you do dear 💖

Chouette, Stephanie is an awesome designer that is taking away from her time to give us great, free tutorials. Please don't insult and try to degrade her. She is such a great teacher! I have learned so much from her. You would do much better to be grateful to her and learn from her. I can promise you, you will learn so much.

Chouette I am not sure of what rock you have been under to think that this stitch is the only stitch that Stephanie or any other designer has graciously taken the time to video it to teach someone who may be in need of learning it. I, as well as many others (yourself as well, I assume) are knowledgeable of this stitch, but are always open and accepting that one way is not the only way. Stephanie, as always your willingness to take the time to teach and share is greatly appreciated by myself as well as many others. Happy beading everyone!

Chouette, you know what "saddens" me? The way you comment on this channel to Stephanie, more than ones. I find it disrespectful and rude how you react to her and on this channel. Please don't!, keep your comments positive, or don't react at all! Thank you!

I enjoyed this play off of Stephanie’s “Bead Stash Video” as she stated in the beginning. Aside from being a beaded bracelet video, one more inline with non ‘expert’ beaders, there is so much more info to take away depending on your knowledge base, I.e. bead sizes, bead size mixing, names of bead stitches, how to do said stitches, etc. Especially with COVID there are many new beaders. Stephanie is a Teacher and Designer to 158k+ people. In all my years enjoying her there have only been 2 negative comments that I recall. Remember that there was a time when YOU didn’t know the difference between a seed bead and a delica. Take care 🌷
