Welcome to the first video in what will hopefully be a series. This episode covers various glitches in The Phantom Pain and explains how to perform them for yourself. Following episodes will cover the Any% speedrun category and will delve into routes for each mission in the game for all skill levels.
Chapter Selection:
Chopper Skip - 1:04
Item Buffering - 4:10
Dolphin Diving - 7:30
Jeep / D-Walker Smokes - 8:30
D-Horse Clipping - 10:39
Weapon Customization - 11:52
Invincible Vehicles - 17:10

Is there a way to download old versions of the game?
Yes there is!
First of all make sure you back up your save data in case something goes wrong, and because your save for the current patch won't be usable. Saves can only go forward in patches.
If you are on console, you would need to delete your game data, then start the game while offline. You'll be starting just the base game.
On PC it's a little bit trickier. Here's two different guides to follow:

Unfortunately a recent update to Steam made it so you can't downpatch games, so unless this change was reverted you ALSO have to downpatch Steam. I believe this video addresses that: czcams.com/video/bjN6-e3nlPE/video.html
@@StegDarkhorse Thanks for your answer! I'm actually on PC so I got it to work with this weird workaround with Cheat Engine and direct downloading from the Steam client. Currently running 1.10 to enjoy all the old exploits that I could on my old PS3 version...

I played MGS 1,2,3,4,5 and I loved it, but I got tired after playing MGS5 after a while and lost all motivation because of its redundancy I reached 91% and never played it again for about a year... I got married and my wife played some games on my PS4. She is nine months pregnant now with our first baby and I made her play MGS5 about a week ago. She is now 32%. Today she had some contractions and instead of watching TV or being on social media she told me she wants to play MGS5 and it was awesome!!! It took her mind off of the pain ! I have the TV on high volume and it’s awesome :)

So this video was supposed to come out in November. There's a lot of excuses for why it took so long, but the point is it's here now. I told myself I wouldn't stream or speedrun until this was done, so that's why I've vanished for the last few months. No clue when the next part of the tutorial will come out but I hope people find this part at least a bit interesting. Thanks for reading this and watching the video.
The best thing about the weapon customisation glitch is watching Snake try to reload them.

I maxed out my bond quiet and I accidentally hit her and lowered the bond before mission 43 and she hasn’t left
I believe if you lower the bond before you actually trigger the mission you can prevent it from happening. I could be mistaken. I do know for sure that if you have the butterfly emblem equipped it prevents that mission from triggering.
I found that u have been doing mgsv content so I subscribed , mb u will upload one day , one year
It’s too bad a lot of these glitches are either patched out by now or don’t work outside of PC in the case of weapon customization glitch. I really would’ve loved experimenting with that glitch on Xbox but alas, it just wasn’t meant to be😞
Does the smoke grenade in truck trick and dolphin dive still work in Ground Zeroes? Could be funny to see if it works on the last game

The odd thing about the weapon customization glitch was I was able to do it on the PS3 at one point. I did it by complete accident when I somhow gave the ARC-NL a different barrel and silencer.

Sorry for taking so long. I meant to reply to you much sooner. Essentially you'll start a mission, go grab the materials and fulton the stuff you want, then run far enough to trigger a checkpoint. The game will show you all the materials you've acquired, so at that point you do Restart Mission. Everything respawns and you keep the materials you gathered. This method only works on the old version of the game. I heard there was one found for after patch 1.14 but I haven't looked into it - I've just seen it when googling the topic.

What are the actions that cancel the weapon customization glitch? Are the guns stuck like that?
Weapon glitch stays until you modify the weapon and remove the glitched parts. This was only possible on old versions of the game. I suppose if you have an old version and then update it you might be able to keep glitched weapons you've created, but the developers may have thought of that and fixed the weapons once you update.
i have a question im on xbox and i have been playing for a while. one time o got off the game as normal and when i got back on it did not save my progress i thought that it was a bug and ignored it then when i was done playing it happened again and so on every time i play and make progress it does not save. pls if anyone knows how to fix this pls let me know.

Unfortunately there hasn't been any method discovered to do it on console. I would love for there to be a way so that more people could enjoy it, but it seems extremely unlikely because of the requirements.

I know this may be a dumb question but your videos from about 3 years ago had a really nice female staff with a ponytail, was she a mod because i would like to find her on console?
Sorry for the late reply, but it was a mod. The soldier was Flaming Buffalo who you get from completing Chapter 1. There's a mod that changes the hair styles and faces of female soldiers which is what you were seeing.
I think the " chopper skip" glitch doesn't work in the japanese ps3 version
Chopper skip was patched out and would only be available on older versions of the game. If you tried it on the current patch it wouldn't work. But, I have no experience with the JP PS3 version. It should work on the old patch of it still.

I was grinding for the world record pretty hard, and took a break to play Monster Hunter for a few weeks. Next month is the fifth anniversary of MGSV and I would like to make a video to celebrate that. Sometime after that I'll try to get a new part out.

Pirated the game, played intro, tried to install 100% save for coomer reasons, didn't work, had to restart and do the intro again.
