  • Shea's old windshield tint was a mess!
So I picked up some VVIVID and tools and got to work re-tinting her Windshield.

Nicely done! One of my sons, on his Ninja, wanted to tint his little windshield. He saw the price, etc and decided to try something else he heard about. He bought a can of some type of rubberized spray paint. He removed the shield from the bike, sprayed a few coats on the inside of it, let it dry really well and put it back on. At any time he could have easily just peeled it off, but he liked it and left it on the bike. He recently sold that bike and the rubberized spray was still holding up after at least 5 years after doing it. If I ever want a blacked out look, that is the way I will do it. Not a good idea for a larger windshield that you might be looking through, however.

Well done and thanks for sharing your video. It's good to know that you need an extra pair of hands with this job. How do you experience driving in the evening with the tinted windshield.
Do you see much less through the screen now? I am also planning to tint my windshield from my Yamaha FZ6 S2 Fazer. If it doesn't work for me then I will use Backlight Paint Spray.
Have a good day and drive safe.

Nice, is it the same tint film used for cars? Got only one company in my area, they dont want to do my windshield cos it aint glass, and dont want to sell me some of the film. The online platforms here mostly selling selling cheap knock off products, in the ratings people complain the film is different than the advertised film, too thin.
Didnt want to use film, but since my rit dye on my diy windshield failed yesterday, no other option

The one that we used was for car Light Fixtures.. so I'm assuming that they are a similar material to the MC wind shields.. There is always a risk when buying anything but the one I bought was on the mark.. and it's still going strong over a year later.. so I think we're good..

what about putting sth on the outside so when you collect a hundred flies and bugs .you just peal it off, or you dont peal it but it's just an added protection from scratching and stuff??? does that make any sense?

    • @CockneyBiker

it does make very good sense.. however, I put it on the inside because Shea likes to tuck her drinks between the Windshield and the instrument cluster.. and much of the scratches and damage will occur on the inside, so it made more sense to have the there instead.
