  • Hey Everyone, exciting day! I'm trying out my new Ripmo V2S frame, I figured it was a good opportunity to make a video based off of my first few rides off the bike. The bike has recieved a few small upgrades including a wider rear triangle and a universal derailleur hanger. It Still kept the change of the changed head angle from the V2 so Jumping from a Ripmo V1 to the v2s was quite a noticeable difference. Enjoy the video.

    I have the version 1 Ripmo and have a Specialized side loading cage. Plenty of room for a large water bottle and no rubbing issues.
    Just a matter of shopping around for a cage that suits and allows for some adjustment up/down. Side loading is a must for a larger bottle imo.

    Nice video - Have the V2 myself. What sag are you running the fork at? Ibis recommends 30% for fox 38 But that seems high? Sick bike.

    • @outoffokuss
      @outoffokuss  Před rokem +1

      Thank you, I typically ran just about 30 percent on that 36 fork. I'm not one to expirement with suspension that much. I feel if you went to a lower sag percentage I think it would start feeling more harsh because you'll start to get into the more progressive stroke. Don't quote me I could be wrong though!

    I been on the V1 for about 2 years now and love it as well!
    Are the differences on the V2s noticeable on the trail?
    Btw, Arundel cages work well on Ibis bikes! If you want you can splurge on a Carbon one or just get a graphite or plastic type that I got - works great! Plenty of clearance.

    • @outoffokuss
      @outoffokuss  Před rokem +4

      I did notice the difference on descents with 1 degree head angle change, the v2s takes a little more effort on the flatter trails and the climbs where the ripmo v1 did just fine. The parts were swapped over from my ripmo the only thing different needed are the wider cranks for the Wider chainline. From reading a little bit, I guess they wanted to suit the bike for enduro a little more and they were successful at that.

    The Ripmo and SJ evo are hands down the best all mountain bikes you can buy for a reasonable price. I've ridden about every bike with similar travel and you can't get better well rounded bikes that can do it all.

    I'm assuming you've ridden all the local spots on that bike like Frick, Alameda, etc...If so is it fun on our local trails in western PA? I'm 5yrs in on my Intense and the Geo is wack. Climbs like a do with a 71mm seat tube angle. I can pick that V2s frame up for 2,600 right now and swap most of my high end parts over, except the damn Crankset because it needs to be Dub Wide. It would be my daily on those trail systems.

    • @outoffokuss
      @outoffokuss  Před 3 měsíci

      It does alright for that type of bike if you want something with that kind of travel. It all depends on how you ride. It's sluggish, around here I feel. My opinion changed on bike travel once I started riding a hard tail.

    • @totalchaos80
      @totalchaos80 Před 3 měsíci

      @outoffokuss Yea reality is any of us riding bikes like that around here are all over-biked. I did the hard tail thing for years and they rip on most of our local XC trails. Appreciate the feedback, gives me more to think about!
