    110% cut the rear bar on the taper if not at the lights definitely add bits to the number plate. Keep it all sleek and flowing nicely. That's my 2 cents anyway

    nice bro looks heaps level now . id probably cut the edges off near the lights so it follows the same line . not sure about the number plate bit maybe do the lights angle first and see how it looks and then decide . but great work getting it level and also cutting those leaf hangers off . the trays getting close cant wait

    The rear bar looks great now mate. I think trimming the edges to match the tail lights and adding angles to the number plate recess would look sweet 👌🏼

    IMO taper the rear bar to match the angle of your taillights.

    Looking Sweet nice tailights, I'm really enjoying this build, bringing back memories when I built a couple tonners for customers plus myself, 2 inch chop top roof, looking forward to seeing more, hope your doing well and the family mate cheers 🍺🍻🍺🍻 KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🇦🇺😎👍

    That rear end looks tidy!! Really well done! I'd probably tape around the light following the curve and keeping it the same size from the top to the side of the light perfectly then rattle can it black as the area you would plan to cut will contrast as it's in primer, step back and decide if you should cut. Then I'd cut up some cardboard, rattle can it black and stick it on the number plate area to see if it's needed. I personally would be cutting the ends but I'm not sure if it will need the number plate fill bits, it might look different with a tray & suit those lines. Following the curve of the corner might take a bit more fab work but it will be worth it.

    Sam fantastic I agree with the cut outs on the back tailgate it will look good angles to suit the taillights Keep up the good work look forward to the next one

    I’m liking the tail lights, yep they’ll look good o.
    I was thinking that recessing the number plate was …well honestly a bit wanky…how wrong I was !
    Perhaps a strip light above the plate would add a bit more to the desired final appearance?
    Keep at it and cheers for the offer of comments and ideas. 👍🍻

    Love the build mate the tunnas my favourite car had several of them over the years from HQ to VY there just tuff. I’d do the corners and the fill ins would look sweet. Liked and subbed so will be following the rest of the build, can’t wait to see it finished and I’m gunna go check out the other vids from the start cheers Yogi Victoria 🇦🇺🤙🤙

    Looks good as is but also what you are thinking sounds good too. Wouldn't do too much more till the tray is fabbed. Lights might end up being a bit high you never know so hold of till your sure they are AOK. Think about a bus or truck following you, wil they see the brake lights from a higher angle. .

    I have two factory tonners. The wb with aluminium tray has lights mounted to chassis rail. The HJ has steel tray with over hanging sides to match the body lines. This one has plates at rear and lights mounted at the back of the tray itself. Just saying there were differences from New.

    Run a led strip above the plate that goes all the way across

  • @dean7971
    @dean7971 Před 2 lety

    I wouldn’t taper the number plate area as the square number plate area and the taper on the taillights sort of looks like the chev emblem.

    Do the cuts and weld in the section near the number plate. I took one look and thought exactly that. Then you go on to say you’re thinking about it.
    Do it.

  • @MrMicko11
    @MrMicko11 Před 2 lety

    Definitely cut the angles at the tail lights and filets at the number plate was the first thing I thought watch the vid, too late now as you already did all that work but I probably would have use a bit of strip led in the bar above the number plate save making the light covers

  • @benhall5995
    @benhall5995 Před 2 lety

    Hey Sam, love the rear taillight idea, looks sick man. With the rear cross bar that your taillights are mounted to, did you fab that from scratch if so what gauge steel is it
