I like this restoration in particular. Many restoration projects on CZcams actually rebuild a device to a point where even the original manufacturer would not recognize it anymore. Your restoration does not hide the age or aging of the instrument and keeps much of the old character, patina and style. It is a beautiful piece of work. And very well recorded as well.

I was surprised by that hearty laugh when your sting broke. Such a pleasant and warm laugh too. Great job on a difficult restoration! You seem to be able to do all sorts of wood based renewal. Marriage proposal still stands! 🥰
Wasn't sure if it could be fixed. Should've known as talented as you are you can fix anything and make it beautiful again! I chuckled when I heard you laugh over breaking the string. Even though some comments said it was originally a cheap instrument coming from a family with many children we also got a lot of joy and fun from the less expensive things. I am sure that if that mandolin could talk it would tell of many hours of fun and laughter and maybe even a love aria or two. Thanks for sharing this with us.

@@Restomaniac I always find it really difficult to get a balance. Something can have zero economic worth, but have sentimental value for a person. But sometimes the cost of repair is just so huge, I have to tell people it’s probably not worth it. But always their choice.
I really enjoyed your very skilled and NOT over-restoration, and the end product is beautiful. I know nothing about mandolins, but yours only appears to have seven strings - unless my very old eyes deceive me. Maybe you didn't have another replacement after breaking one.

Thank you 😊 Yes, this is one of the reasons why it is cheap. The pieces were assembled as they were cut, without sanding.
