Absolutely! That’s a great idea!
In my opinion platinum doesn't have the history of financial usage so I think it's a very long shot. That said I do hold a few oz of platinum to diversify my metals stack that I keep at the bottom of my favorite lake 😊

Disagree with haters. Maybe they hate the premium but I'll buy combi-bars all day if I can. Any gram bar with assay is OK with me and an obvious denomination for SHTF purposes.

Unfortunately you guys have been mislead. In no situation would gold become a currency in a shtf situation..goods and services will be traded. Good and silver will be worthless.

I did the math on 25 gram combis for about spot (after rebates).
I almost did it because yhe premium was dealt with and the look was great!
I must say, I really do like the 25xmulti gram bars! The Pamp one is very nice.
As of now I am stacking 1/2 gram gold coins from CIT Palau $1:00 -0.5 gram Gold .9999 just for the hell of it just to have Fun have over 1/2 oz different designs .

Buy what you can afford regularly. It is worth more in real world economics than that paper stuff.

Id definitely like to get one for an EDC in the wallet, maybe along with one of those silver cards but I don't have anything less than a tenth. The premium on them is certainly hard to swallow

@@FutureInvestmentsBullion lol no worries, it might just be an American thing sorry, an Every Day Carry (EDC) item for if anything happened you'd have a backup plan of gold.
Gold looks extremely expensive now, but in a few weeks, it may look like a good deal the way gold is moving.

5 grams is the smallest I go in gold bars, 5 is the sweet spot, with a premium and resale spread almost as good as Sovs and 20 Francs, here in Spain. Below 5g, the premium skyrockets too much.

As a bit of advise I would recommend saving your money and buying a 10th oz British coin over the 1 gram bars....the reason is because they are capital gains exempt...how gutted would you be when you come to cash in on your hard work investing and having to pay tax on it...

What about quarter sovereigns - a bit more expensive with a little under 2 grams of gold, but CGT free in the UK.

Ehrm...the data set I've assembled of about 50 years shows gold is far more volatile than stocks (25% for gold compared to 17% for MSCI World Index). The most attractive thing about gold is that it has no correlation with stocks (and bonds as well). The combination of gold and stocks has a lower volatility than either gold or stocks. If you add a little bit of bonds to the mix, you can reduce the volatility ever further, down to below 10%.
With regard to the 1 gram gold bars. Even if you get tired of them at some point (when your wealth grows, that most likely will happen) you at least have a stack of excellent Christmas gifts.

I looked around and found out that Tavex Bullion were the cheapest, at the time £50+, The Royal Mint our trusted British Mint charge over £30+ in some case which is scandalous for the same weight in pure gold.
I will carry on buying 1 gram gold bars from Tavex for the foreseeable future because gold is gold at the end of the day.

Also too small too expensive. 1/10th coins are far better. Just over 3 grams and less premium than 1, 2, & 3g bars. Half sovereigns and Sovereigns also are a lot less premium than grammies. Coins are also more liquid and retain more premium than do grammie bars.
