    Love your videos, JC. The 2 things I regret never having done while still in Portland are the group rides and using Rev Rides. Yes, the Flexmeter wrist guards are cumbersome, but I've gotten used to them. Since I've gotten a faster wheel and have been riding faster, It's probably time to upgrade the full-faced mountain biking helmet to the next level. Portland drivers are much more considerate of non-automobile means of transportation than they are in AZ. I am in Portland for a visit this weekend, but took a huge, non-EUC spill last week and have also been off the EUC for about a week. Even after riding it for years, I still marvel at how much fun it is to ride almost every time I get on it.

    • @EUC_Crush
      @EUC_Crush  Před 2 lety +1

      Taking a spill is never fun. It’s important to take time to recover. When I was at the hospital the dr told me the most dangerous thing about having a concussion is having a repeated fall, and we are at a greater risk of falling after a fall. 🤔

    Sorry to hear about your crash. I'm an old guy (70 years old), and planning to stick with my V8F, mostly riding at 10 to 15 mph on local paved bike trails or private streets near my home. I wear a Bell Super 3R MIPS helmet, 187 wrist guards, and Leatt dual axis (XXL, I have large calf muscles). In another EUC video about shoes, someone recommend Broger California motorcycle shoes. In addition to the laces, they have a zipper on the side to put the shoes on or take them off.

      @@EUC_Crush - my car has a high hatch back with a 1 foot wide "deck". To avoid back issues, I brace one hand on the deck, and use the other arm to lift my EUC to load or unload it from the hatch back area. I work out with free weights, and routinely lift 45 lb plates with one arm, but I'm not sure how much of a strain 55 lbs would be. Although 16X and 18XL have more acceleration (torque) and speed than V8F, the V8F manages to out-brake them. The private streets near my home are cambered towards the center, so the thinner tire on the 18XL would have less issue with tram tracking on those streets. I also ride a 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle, so my riding hobby time is split between the bike and the EUC. An S18 would be smoother, but I weigh 190 lbs, and the max weight rating was reduced to 200lbs, and the P42A battery pack isn't going to make much difference since the fuses remain at 20A per pack, for the same total of 60A. You just get a bit less voltage sag, which isn't an issue until you get down to 50% charge or less.

    I like the Fox V3 carbon fiber motocross helmet. I use it every day while riding my Onewheel GT. It has already been through 10+ crashes and is holding up well. I bought the Fox V3 as a recommendation from Cooch Tech. I also wear a Leatt 6.5 chest protector mated to a Leatt 6.5 neck brace. The chest protector neck brace combo is nice insurance that few riders gear up for, as it limits neck movement in a crash and can prevent whiplash and God forbid, a broken neck.
    I could use a little advice from you, as I am a Onewheel rider who has a 126v EUC (Kingsong S22) on order. Any advice on transitioning from the Onewheel to a EUC would be greatly appreciated.

    I do find it amusing that people only upgrade after they crash. Everyone will spend thousands of dollars to upgrade their wheel but won't spend $250 on a helmet which IMO is cheap. Research and try on different brands. Keep in mind you research tech, don't sacrifice safety because of weight. There are plenty of brands that are lightweight, have visibility, and fit your head. People buy those TSG/Predator helmets but sacrifice proper padding and protection from a direct hit and are relatively cheap. Those helmets only really properly protect from sliding rolling falls. Hospital bills are more expensive than any piece of gear.

      I did get a Scorpion EXO-R1 CARBON AIR for fall and winter and replaced my bell 3R with the bell DH for summer/trail riding.

    just getting into EUCs and imo everyone needs to wear motorcycle helmets. i am shocked at the junk helmets EUC riders wear. you are basically on a one wheeled motorcycle. wearing a motorcycle helmet will quickly build up the weak neck muscles and teach you to keep your head on a swivel looking left and right at all times. problem solved. multimillionaire gp moto riders wear motorcycle helmets at 200+ mph. millions of motorcycle riders wear motorcycle helmets at high speeds with the need for great peripheral vision at all times. if you don't like regular motorcycle helmets i would go with a motocross motorcycle helmet

      Can it dude this is the wrong audience. People here know about safety. Go find a skatepark or something. Just wear a helmet before you start preaching to them.

      And you're wrong like a newbie would be. Should always wear something, but dress for the occasion. You know your ride styles. You dont need to be dressed like robocop to ride 10mph down a bike lane next to grandma and her 2 dogs.
