And with transportation costs becoming unaffordable for many, they resort to hitching a ride. SABC News has visited a popular hitchhiking spot in Tzaneen, Limpopo, after reports of several cases of robbery and rape of hitchhikers.

Hitchhiking is dangerous is just risking with your life and being robbed your belongings but desperation leave you with no choice

Cost of living is too high people are not going to afford to pay the taxi price that is why they are getting to the hiking transport and robbed
