I have an Etsy, Ebay, and a Shopify store. What I do, with a thank you note, I let them know about my Shopify shop. I let them know prices are a bit better because the fee's are lower on Shopify. It seems to work. Remember, just because no one rushes to Shopify doesn't mean they wont, some people don't buy candles every month.
I realize I am kinda off topic but does anyone know a good site to watch newly released movies online ?
Do you have to pay taxes for selling on Etsy? Or do the customers do that while paying at the checkout? Thank you!

You’re always reading my mind!! I haven’t launched my business yet but I’ve been debating between starting on Etsy or Shopify. I didn’t even think about inventory, great point
My plan was to keep a smaller inventory on etsy and pack a info card with my website for each order. With maybe a coupon? And then keep a bigger separate inventory for website :) so you can keep getting new customers w etsy and then have a main source be website so less fees. Bit more work but I think it works

Brandable Box would be amazing for you! They brand your co logo on each box so you don't have to use the stamp

For packaging, there is a green bubble wrap and it is biodegradable unlike the plastic ones that we have been using. Its totally upto you but I think you can use those because you need a bubble wrap for better protection!!

we have shipped hundreds of thousands of packages.
One hot tip! we do is this.....
if you use ship-station this is easier to track but track your customers repeat orders 1,2,3,4,5 etc and rotate the free gift and the thank you message cards so each time they get a new thank you message and you dont give them the same sample over and over.
If possible hand write something on each card or the packing slip and we like to add a smily face and the first name of the packer.

If there isn't anything to integrate the 2 I feel like you'll still have good results w/ your site since your name is thrown around a lot so I wouldn't worry about keeping etsy. Can't wait to see it! Also your cute little stickers could duo as a nice touch and mini "seal" on the boxes ☺️
Thats how I was too. I hot over overwhelmed with both so I closed my etsy and just stuck with my website. After that its been so much easier to share my link with people and its easier for customers to know where to go. I use to have people message me on Facebook and ask if they should use my etsy or website. So it gets confusing for everyone that way. But once I closed my etsy the stress of having 2 stores open was gone.

I ended up doing my own website and closing Etsy shop. As you said, it was too difficult to keep up with inventory. Also double fees which wasn't fun. I'm very happy bc now I have total control and do whatever I wish with it. On crinkle shred, the colors of my company are teal and black and ny labels are kraft so I use teal, black and kraft shred. I like that it all works together. Think about using your colors in your shred. For holidays I use other colors, or with special launches. It's fun and a colorful gift for them to open. Personal touch. ☺

Hi pretty friend!! I have the opposite issue haha I have my website but started an Etsy. Because my sales are manageable, I only put a small quantity on Etsy and the rest on my website! Any time I sell on on Etsy, i subtract it from Shopify. There is an integration app on Shopify that does cost some money per month from what the Shopify team told me, but if you do have money to put towards it, it merges them automatically!
I love how this is going more towards eco-friendly packaging! I'd say as well that a sticker would be nice there, and maybe, if the stamp is not too big, just to stamp the small cotton bag where you put your samples :) but love love this change! good luck with your new website!

Hey girl, I just want to say on Shopify you can integrate all your products on Etsy like you were asking. Shopify allows you to integrate to multiple platforms.
It can delete items off any platforms you’re selling on as long as you have it linked to your Shopify store. 💛✨
You should print thermal labels for the outside of your gift boxes! Saves on ink!
Stamping all your boxes and sample bags with your logo would help elevate your brand as well
Maybe get a stamp to stamp the boxes that way you save money and only have to worry about the cost of an ink pad!:)

I ordered and just received a candle from you this week, not complaining but just wanted to let you know. When you showed how you package your 6oz tins you talked about them being dented. Packaged the way you showed in the video mine arrived dented, like i said not complaining(love the candle)!! Love your videos!!

Also lol, How's your scent longevity with your spray? I can't get the scent to stick around longer then a few minutes

Hi, I know you mentioned you have Shopify but I use GoDaddy and it does offer real time inventory integration with Etsy, Amazon, Walmart, Google, etc. you only have to update inventory from your domain site and it will automatically sync inventory to any other marketplaces you have linked.

Your supplies would be a lot cheaper if you get them from China. Go to Alibaba for bulk order and negotiate the price. You should package your jar candles the same way you package tin candles using crinkle-cut papers. Just a suggestion. ;-)

When shipping your melts, how do you calculate shipping? By the ounce or do you have to ship as a small parcel?
I want to know how big my shipping boxes should be because i honestly don’t think my business will boom right away but what if someone buys multiple candles at once? If the boxes are too small I’ll have to ship items separately.

What if you don’t use the clamshell container for melts. I use molds, so I pop my melts out. Do they have to be packaged in something sealed to keep the scent? Or wrapping them in tissue paper and putting in a box is fine? (I see that a lot on Pinterest)
Question - How would someone get new customers if ithey aren't on
ETsy? Personal websites take years to get organic traffic. I guess it works for you because you took a year to get your customers on Etsy and CZcams.

I use polymailers when I know the package will weigh under 1lb and I can ship via first class
How do you keep your glossy labels from smearing? 😕 mine always do even when I let them dry. They can be sitting for a month and if I touch them wrong they smudge. Any ideas?

I don’t use it unless it’s the heat wave of summer when temperatures exceed 90-95 degrees 🙂

Honestly, I’ve bought from many Etsy shops and almost all switch to their own shopify. Just put their shop in vacay mode and list your website.
I don't think you can list your website directly on etsy. I think its against etsy regulations. You can't cross promote on their website.

Hmmm I’m not sure how big an 8 oz deli container is, but I think it would fit in a polymailer correct? If so I would do a polymailer! Especially for wax crumbles since they probably weigh less than 1lb :)

Why did you decide to open your own website? I’m in transition from Etsy to my own site too. I’m just so nervous because I know that I’m in charge of bringing people to my shop and advertising! I’m very excited though!
I want more creative freedom and less fees. Also I am building a brand and people will remember my website name more than just my Etsy shop name ❤️
