White singers have had soul since this type of music existed. Look up Righteous Brothers and others. That was over 70 years ago.
Let’s keep it real. White soulful artist have all historically acknowledged black artist as their inspiration for singing and loving soulful music. The blues, gospel, jazz, R&B……I could go on and on! 💁🏾♀️

Point in case, Elvis stole a black artist, “Roy Hamilton” entire persona (moves, voice, singing style) but he got all the credit, fame and money. He also stole the song “Hound Dog” from a Black female blues singer named Big Mama Thornton. She got no recognition, little money or credit for the song, at least for decades.

Another white soul singer from Cajun Country you should check out is Marc Broussard and he is amazing he's been around for a while and he doesn't get the credit he deserves he did home which was many years ago but cry to me a Solomon Burke classic he does amazing❤❤
I’ve seen him twice at City Winery in Nashville. The second time his father came and played with him. Talent runs in that family. He most definitely has the chops and should be larger than he is by now!

You have to check out some of Teddy's covers which he makes his own one of my favorites is Mario let me love you and I personally like it better than Mario's and he does Bill Withers and the legendary Luther Vandross and he does to Marvin Gaye covers which is hard to do and what's going on he made totally his own❤
