If it is a national high school, it is a public school.
That song was for the doxology part of the graduation exercises.
The levels of basic education in the Philippines are the following:
    1. Kindergarten
    2. Elementary
    3. Junior High School (from Grade 7 to Grade 10)
    4. Senior High School
We hold Moving-Up Ceremony for Kindergarten and Junior High School. Graduation Exercises is for Elementary and Senior High School.
Here in the Philippines, all Moving-Up Ceremonies and Graduation Exercises start with a Doxology. Even public schools start these school year-end programs with a Doxology. If not with a prayer.
But then all programs here in the Philippines start with a prayer. By that, I mean all programs - short or long programs - because we believe in acknowledging God or Allah or a Higher Being.
    NDDU is a Catholic School.
Sometimes during programs, prayers are ecumenical to give due respect to different religions of the participants.

last week I just attended a graduation ceremony of Elementary grade students and they sang "MAPA" by SB19, I couldn't believe on what I saw, that students sang that song wholeheartedly for their parents, and saw they were crying while singing MAPA, same goes to the parents who cried while they are witnessing their kids garduates. That MAPA song hits different when a kid sung it for their parents.

when I was in senior high, im came from a girl's school in antipolo, assumption antipolo, that's very memorable it's a 2 song one wind beneath my wings and the other one thanks to You. At first, I don't know why my classmates were crying, but then I realize it was our last day. during that time only friendster no messenger yet and then we can only talk by phone. it's a good thing we exchanged some graduation pictures that time with messages at the back and created my own scrapbook of all my memories during high school. I cherish the memories. now I'm becoming mellow dramatic.

In my batch in 1989, our music teacher was the ine rwsposible to teaxh us the song we arw going to sing on our graduarion day. And she is also our conductor. The practice stsrts 2 months before the graduationday. By secrion she made us practice the songs during our music class. Then we applied rhe perfornance during our graduation practice..
Its actually a veru memorable time for all graduates specially in elementary and high school and college.
Maybe, for me , now I came to realized why filipino are easy to be united because of many group activiries in our school days that we need to accomplished all years of school days. Not only on graduation days...

Oh. I also love that song like a farewell song to our friends and classmates... A lot of my classmates do cry singing that. I forgot the song title.
Oh..and not just graduations we have that kind of a lot of people singing in harmony.. every Flag ceremony we do too.. the Philippine national anthem, Panatang makabayan, school hymn, regional hymn.. and a lot more. 😅 So I guess, that's pretty normal. Really really normal.

Because there were so many of us graduating at the same time in the 1980s when I was in elementary and high school, we sang but lacked choreography. The song "Goodness of God",,,alone speaks volume. It's not about the performance, or what you said "less tricks,,they just repeat & repeat"...,I respect your opinion though✌️😊.But as a believer in the Lord,I would say that those students have different backgrounds, different upbringings, some may be are working students, they have their own burdens, hardships in life and so on.I'm glad maybe one of their teachers or the principal chose this christian song, because they realized(& still is), that at the end of the day, giving glory and thanks to God matters most!!! That no matter how hard life is, and the sacrifices their parents are doing just to give them education,,,being thankful and grateful to God still shines inspite of the hardships, heartbreaks,or "darkness" they experienced while schooling.
Filipinos are smiling but deep down, one may not know the 'hurts, the hardships' they are going through,,,only they can show to the world they are smiling because God is still good,by God's grace they or we are still fighting.🙏❤️
What matters in life even if it's a simple "tribute" or song maybe to others, but for some like me who knows and experienced harships in life,,,,this gives me chill because in life, one may have 'everything' in life, but if you dont have God,,,then your nothing.❤️🙏
    Anyway,bro✌️😊all the best,Godbless u and loved ones!!!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
