What if Liu Kang is invading other realms and is lying to the heroes about it to make them help him with his evil schemes?
entirely possible actually, there is a whole(kind of abandoned since Armageddon but did show up in Shinnok's MKX ending) plot with the one being, in which if the realm were ever to unite the one being will just start to manifest and destroy everything, One being could be slowly infecting Liu Kang since he is a god and is also in control of time, although my theory is Liu Kang is fully aware and is gathering everyone to make sure they used the power of friendship to defeat himself so one being can't manifest through anyone else.

Prediction: Will be similar to a typical MK story with the Mortal Kombat Tournament execpt after Earthrealm beats the final Outworld boss (pls be Goro) Shang Tsung will appear and say he’s come from a timeline where he won against Liu Kang during their fight in Aftermath. Then he becomes the villain for the rest of the story
Goro was shown as a Kameo in the gameplay reveal, so, even if he makes it to the main roster, he won't be a boss.
Having the preorder character as the final boss of a new MK title would be a new low... the worst is, I believe NRS would do it, they already did this with the sub-boss of MKX (Goro preorder).

Im a strong believer in Onaga returning. Onaga wasn't trying to merge the realms when he was alive because he was strong enough to resist the one beings influence, unlike Shao Kahn who killed onaga because of that so it would make sense that Liu Kang keeps onaga as the ruler of outworld. Maybe in the past of this timeline liu kang and onaga established a treaty where Onaga agrees to keep his rule within outworld in exchange for The "ultimate being" as refered to by ed boon from bothering him.

Maybe tsang tsung stole the throne or something like that or maybe someone in the roster was corrupted

One thing is that if Liu Kang created the “ideal” world why have the earthrealm invasion still occur. Why have all the events that occurs with Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn occur? Unless Shang Tsung did some Deus Ex Machina where he used some of the Sand of Time power to create a pocket dimension where he could chill and power up.
For what I have heard, aparently Liu made an error during the creation of the new timeline, which unleashed a new menace, maybe its that and Shang its just around that
Why is Benevolent God allowing Evil to exist in the world? Because value is in the eye of the beholder. From a objective point of view, people may commit what most humans would describe as terrible attrocities but if said terrible attrocity is what ignites a particular spark of change in the world then the logic thing to do is to let it happen. Mortal Men cannot see past their limited lives and world views, so they struggle to understand the place Evil has in the world.
Why would he create Mileena and make her empress at that? When Lui Kang never interacted with Mileena
Maybe because he knew, somehow, that Mileena was obsessed with political power and though that by making her queen/empress she would be chill and don't cause problems for anybody, especially for Kitana, but as we can see now Mileena has (always) trust issues, so not even when she gets what she always wanted she can't be happy.
When Shinnok first fell and tried to invade Earthrealm, Raiden stood against him, and their fight caused a natural disaster that wiped out the dinosaurs, and almost all the saurians (the dominant species at the time).
God Kang is made up of two Liu Kang's and Raiden. He has the power of those three combined. So he should technically be more powerful than solo Raiden.
So Liu Kang should've been powerful enough to stop Shinnok without causing such a disaster.
Yet the fact the humans are dominant, means he purposely let Shinnok destroy Earthrealm just enough, before then stopping him. Just so he could let humans, and his old friends, come back. Dick move.
This is probably a multiverse situation. This is the only way I can think of for anything to pose a threat to Liu Kang, considering the fact that he is now the most powerful being in the universe.
That wouldn't make sense though. If he made everything completely over and fresh why is there still evil going on....is he repeating the history over again?.. why is tsang shung coming out a portal to hurt people? Who's controlling that power? Liu kang?

That would be pretty disappointing in my opinion. Multiverse stuff is pretty boring, and we just did multiple versions of characters kicking about at the same time in MK11, so it'd just feel like we're doing that again.

I think Shang Tsung is recruiting the 3D Era characters (hopefully) or just his own allies to initiate the Mortal Kombat tournament and bring back the "past timeline" we witnessed from Mk9 to Aftermath and Liu Kang must oblige to this "challenge" of the tournament because even though he is the new god and seemingly protector of earth realm, the elder gods (if they still exist) still have reign in deciding the merging of realms and organization of the MK tourney. The one constant that remains, has to be kombat and what better way than a tournament to decide whether peaceful liu kang reigns, or shifty snakey shang tsung turns things back to "normal"

It could be the very first tournament (since we're getting "The Great"Kung Lao). Liu may even be recruiting through realms and different time lines. The villain may be Shang Tsung from a timeline where he won everything and is nearly as powerful as Liu.
Well the trailer shows Shang Tsung killing everyone but Liu Kang as a sort of foreshadowing (?)

@@laurentiusmcmxcv Yeah, but you can see Kung Lao with the bladed hat fighting Johnny Cage in the trailer. So they probably just removed it in the story mode temporarily. It wouldn't be the first time they temporarily removed a characters abilities for story mode. Also Great Kung Lao being alive at the same time as Not-So-Great Kung Lao makes no sense
I believe, it might be like MK Tournament references are some kind of bug unnoticed by Fire God Lu Kang and then there are be arriving more errors and then we will know that those mistakesare a disturbance due to the Fire God Lu Kang manipulating time too much or Onaga / Shang Tsung return or actions that are making this world less ideal, hence Mileena has got her disease and other "weird" stuff will happen that would ever happen if that would be Lu Kangs ideal world
I think this world has a case of Fire God Liu Kang being a bit of known figure in some places, while a myth in others. Think about it- let's say there's a region around Wu Shi Academy where everyone knows he exists, maybe even met him or saw him around, but it's such a remote place that no news really come out of it (aside from occassional TV crew that is treated like another big foot believer irl). The teahouse is located there and everyone knows about upcoming Mortal Kombat tournament and treat it like a great honorable event for some reason.
Still, Liu Kang has to recruit people from outside that area, hence how he comes across Johhny Cage, Kenshi and a bunch of other earthrealm fighters that he knew from previous world.
I'm getting the feeling that liu kang has possibly reset a couple of times to the point where he's going to become insane due to shang tsung reoccuring and disrupting his vision of the timeline that he wishes for. And at some point he probably did try to erase shang tsung but failed due to him returning alot in different forms

Either way, I like the idea that in Liu Kang's new era, everyone knows about the Mortal Kombat tournament, instead of it being a secret across generations. It would make a lot of sense for his new Earthrealm to be aware and prepare for it, given how dire things had gotten with this effin' tourney, after his original victory in MK1.

Personally, I think the major threat will have something to do with Chaos Realm. For 2 reasons.
1: In MK11, if Raiden is in a mirror match, one of the possible interactions states that "A dire threat emerges from chaos realm." I know those interactions aren't Cannon, but they could at least be used to hint at future plot points.
2: I'm not sure about this one, I'm going to go back and look at it pretty soon but: In the trailer, Shang Tsung emerges from a red portal. In Aftermath, Shang Tsung kicks someone into a red portal, which sends said person to chaos realm.
So I think the general plot is something like "Shang Tsung appears and starts gathering allies in other realms to try and kill Lui Kang and is using the Mortal Kombat Tournament to do so."
Shang Tsung with an alliance of Havik and Reiko seems interesting...but where does this involve with The Dragon King and Shokans?
Maybe a particularly deadly alliance could have something to do with it?

Shang Tsung is preorder only so if he is in the story, I doubt he would be the mIn villain. It's probably similar to what they did with Goro in MKX and he'll be like a mini boss before the final boss in Towers mode
Love the video, also normal kombat sounds hilarious after twelve installments 😂 but I do have a theory on why fire god is gathering. This tournament isn’t a take over, this one is to determine whose realm is potentially the strongest. Hosted by either sindel, or reiko to appeal to Onaga on who could be the weakest realm to seek out. Shang tsung may not have any involvement at all but this is imo what I think is happening
I like that idea. I could see sussing out the weakest realm as a means for Liu Kang to focus on protecting it. After all, Earthrealm could be assumed to be the weakest one prior to the new era. I could see Liu wanting to ensure all that happened before for his realm doesn't happen again elsewhere.

I don't know if anyone saw this, but in the part of the trailer where Kung lao throws his hat at Bi-Han you can see someone with their hands trapped in ice. Bi-Han is likely after this guy and Kung Lao takes offense to this and a fight breaks out.

It could be that both aftermath endings happened at the same time. And fire God Liu Kang is fighting Conquerer shang Tsung

I think that the Tournament will be the main plot of the game. In the good ending of Aftermath, Liu Kang said to Shang Tsung that no more realities would be twisted by his evil implying that Liu Kang will rewrite history without Shang Tsung.
However he is in the trailer.
My teory is that in the flux of time of the Mortal Kombat universe there are constants that not even the keeper of time can change (for example Shang Tsung beign evil and working for/ruling Outworld, the conflict between Kitana and Mileena and her beign an half breed, Kenshi beign blind, ecc.) so it doesn't matter how many times you try to change history there will be always a menace to Earthrealm. If we think deeply about that, Kronica maybe rewrote history many times because the balance between good and evil shifted every time maybe because of Raiden, but Kronica cannot cancel him because Raiden (and by logic his fight with Liu Kang) is a constant that cannot be eliminated, so she is forced to restart history. In the end, i think that a tournament will take place because it is inevitable.

I have a theory that Liu Kang will be the final boss eventually, either in this game of a game this is building towards.
Basically there is a plotline that there is a "one being" from Deception and Armageddon, if one individual is powerful enough to unite the realms he'll influence the individual to take over everything, then end the universe(his essence basically influenced Onaga), and they clearly didn't forget since in MKX Shinnok's ending referenced it, could also be why Kronika wants to reset the time so nobody will every take over everything. so if the One being is anywhere, it's in Liu Kang. and chances are, Liu Kang has been made aware of it(likely by none other than Shang Tsung), and he is gathering everyone to eventually stop himself, and he wants to 1.make sure there are no other villains to rise before that(so that means getting rid/pacify Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung etc.) 2. it's a group effort so no one gets one being inside of them.
As for this game, I say Liu Kang is "planning his own demise" is too early, it's probably more likely he will get Onaga or Shao Kahn to do it(Shang Tsung was already taken care of in the trailer)

For example in Shang Tsung's Universe, the bad guys won their interactions.. eg Mileena is the Queen and Kitana Is her sister etc.

Honestly, until the hourglass gets destroyed or sealed away so no one can ever use it again, I've lost interest in whatever story they might be trying to tell. Because what's the point in getting invested in a setting and its characters if everything can be reset anytime and everyone's aspirations and potential future amount to nothing in the end. Resetting a timeline is essentially destroying the entire living universe and replacing it with another. Or to make it simpler, destroying a sand castle because you didn't like certain details and building another one.
MK11 is genuinely the worst thing that could have happened to Mortal Kombat. Ironically, it's not even a multiverse because it's a single universe with a single timeline that gets reset over and over because a time witch felt petty that day. Sure, the time witch was defeated and the hourglass is in the hands of an allegedly noble being, but it doesn't change the fact that a giant reset button for everything got introduced and everyone who gets their hands on the controls that just reset it all on a whim. Everyone's desires and aspirations ultimately don't matter in the end because everything was sculpted by the whims of either a petty time witch, a smug shaolin monk or an even smugger soul sorcerer.

Exactly the way I feel about it. Though I'd say MK9 was just as much to blame for introducing time reboots in the first place. MK11/Aftermath just went balls-to-the-wall batshit crazy with it. I honestly think the best thing we could ever get right now is a continuation of the original timeline. Either follow on from Armageddon, or remake Armageddon withOUT the ENITE MK kast (because there were a lot of characters that were dead who should've stayed dead).
@@EndoScorpion to continue my previous rant: because what's the point of Raiden and his allies fighting? So Kronika loses control of the hourglass and can't restart the world anymore? I would have understood if the purpose of defeating Kronika was to restore the timeline, or at least stop others from messing with time further and controlling other people's destinies. You know, like in fckin Snow blind (where it's actually good despite SonichaXD's opinion). But no, the alleged good guys fight Kronika so *they* (or at least, one of them) gain control of the hourglass and can restart the timeline. But doing that erases the current timeline and everyone currently alive, as well as all they've managed to achieve (Kitana becoming Khan and uniting all the people of Outworld, Cyrax regaining his soul and twarting the cyber initiative, Kano finally dying THANK GOD and Raiden successfully breaking the cycle of murdering Liu Kang in every timeline). So the good guys are actively fighting for their own erasure. Same for the alleged bad guys. They side with Kronika because of the promises she made to each and every one of her allies that she'll make them/their faction top dog in the new era. An obvious lie, since not everyone can be top dog all at once, but even if true it doesn't matter. Because just like with the good guys, it's not the *current* bad guys who will rip the benefits of this deal, but their future selves in the new era, while they, the ones living in the now, will get erased from existence along this entire timeline. So the bad guys fight for their erasure as well.
And yet, the story treats it as a victory for the good guys that Liu Kang took control of the hourglass, when all he's gonna do is do what Kronika was going to do. What difference does it make who is the keeper of time if timelines are going to keep getting reset and the lives of all beings are going to be at the whims of one. What is even the fckin point?
maybe the tournament is like a UFC fight in this timeline, with a massive arena. like what capcom does in a lot of other tournament settings.
The Mortal Kombat Tournament was Created by the Elder Gods in Fear of Evil he One Being Returning by Merging the Realms and when Shao Kahn rise with Power after He Poisoned Onaga,so it’s Unknown how the Tournament will Work in MK1 as for Whose Responsibility for the Tournament’s Existence.

Wouldn't be surprised if that's where Scorpion and Raiden get their new elemental powers from, and Bi Han either wants to enhance his own ice power even further and/or upgrade the entire clan as a magic-based alternative to the cyber initiative.
I love to see an Earthrealm aware of the existence of the other realms, with a culture form from it since a lot of time "like the victory of Great Kung Lao?", that could make this earth unique.
In the past timeline it was the case, "since Shao Kahn Invasion" But we never see much of it.
In this new reality that could be the case, and a new reality with new potential is here.
All the other realms are aware of each other, earth has the join them.

I kind of like the theory on it Shang tsung from the timeline where he lives and he's invading this timeline where Liu Kang one and that's the reason the tournament happens because the one thing that everyone forgets about conquerors or evil dictators or whatever they're called once they've conquered everything what's the one thing they're going to want... More and since Shang tsung knows more about The hourglass than anybody else what if he goes through it and spots this timeline where Liu Kang one or maybe even spots the timeline where him and kitana ruling maybe spot the timeline where kronika one and he's just going through each timeline and conquering the other timelines and this is similar to Kang the conqueror where he just goes into this universe and goes after Liu Kang. Though knowing netherrealm they're probably not going to do that.
I think the mortal kombat tournament is a sport thing like the cage matches the black dragons have. Maybe that’s what the posters are for, but the plot is not related to it just a fun in world thing.
Maybe erron black never murdered hsu hao in this games Timeline. Because in mkx or 11 one Charakter had the hsu hao head in his possesion

Before the trailer, I was kinda hoping that the Big Bad would actually be Havik and the Chaosrealm rebelling against Liu Kang's orderly and peaceful universe. Espeically since unlike Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn or Shinnok, Havik's goals would be less focus on obtaining power for himself and more of reblling against Liu Kang's 'tyranny' and bring balance back into the universe that needs it. Baisc whole 'one needs another thing so all things don't atrophy into nonexistence' sorta speel.
But since Shang Tsung is in the trailer and killing everyone as well as being preorder DLC then it looks like it's going to be him again. Hopefully they do something different and not just bring back Shao Kahn again like the idea of Shang using the hourglass to reality hop into different timelines and Liu Kang is trying to stop him or something.

My theory is trying to fix what he perceives to be broken. Allow me to elaborate:
▪︎ He's trying to recreate the Mortal Kombat tournament so that he can pull the strings and make it how it should have happened.
▪︎ He brought back Bi-Han as Sub-Zero instead of Kuai because he feels he can redeem him.
▪︎ I feel like the changes to Mileena is much the same way.
So I feel like the whole plot is Liu Kang playing How It Should Have Ended and trying to play god. But ultimately realizing he cannot fix everything and not everything goes as he intended (cue Onaga). To support this, I think there is more to that Bi-Han line about Liu Kang acts like he rules everything. I think Bi-Han dislikes how Liu Kang is pulling the strings. 🤔

One thing that still bothers me is how Kronika went on rambling about being a Keeper of Time and all that. Yet it's so easy to "replicate" the power with a Crown...but what if Kronika had a point?
In Aftermath she says this to Shang Tsung :
"Skulpting the Sands of Time requires great power and skill. You may have my crown, but you are not a Titan."
What if resculpting time as a Mortal or God presents unforseeable consequences, whereas doing it as a Titan (or official Keeper of Time) works as intended?
My theory is that Shang Tsung's appearance in the trailer makes it so that timelines are intertwined again due to neither Liu Kang or Shang Tsung being a Titan. This would explain the "conflict" in Liu Kang's "perfect timeline"
This would also explain some Mirror-Match intros where some characters roles are completely different, be that Onaga ruling a Liu Kang's timeline or Kano being a Keeper of Time of a Kenshi's timeline.
