OLD LEATHER SMITH here, Nice Job Eric, when I make 1 I use Chicago Screws with the color depending on the Client's color choice, I also like 2 place a square or round leather in the center with the clients name or initial carved into that piece, just some of the ideas I have used in the past. I’ve made valet trays by wet forming them. Clips on the corners with leather pads to cushion them. Look like your first tray without the hardware. Also I use a V groover to make the forming easier.

Would there be benefit to also casing both sides? I always thought casing would allow stretching of the surface more so than compressing it (like an interior bend). Curious.

Another idea is to use snaps in the corners. I sell a travelers valet so it opens at the corners to fit flat in luggage and quickly snaps together when the destination is reached. A quick $35.00 sale.

Cool project. :) Don't know that I'd ever heard of a valet tray before this, but the three different methods of handling the corners was interesting. Seems like good knowledge for other kinds of projects as well. Side note: I don't know if it was my headphones or not, but it seems like the audio was only coming out of the left channel in this video. Not sure if that was intentional. Figured I'd call it out.

Thank you for an awesome tutorial. I had to notice one technical difficalty though. The sound is in one channel only so I can't hear it in my headset because I am deaf on one ear and it happened to be the same as the sound channel. Sadly youtube itself doesn't provide any option to change sound of a video from stereo to mono, so I am kindly asking to prevent this type of sound settings in the future. Thank you.

Hi. there. Wondering if you might be willing to make a bottom for a purse. I crochet my own purses and the options out there are really quite horrible and I"d like to make my own. I notice that the leather community doesn't really do these - I can't seem to find one on YT. it would need hardware on the bottom so if it sits on the floor it won't get dirty...
