Steps to fix your device.
1. Heat up the back cover
2. Remove screws in the back cover
3. Remove the back cover
4. Unplug the back cover from the board
5. Unscrew the main board
6. Unplug all the ribbons on the mainboard
7. Remove the main board
8. Remove the battery carefully
9. Put in the new battery
10. Put the unit back together
11. Get back to staying fit!

Just received one of these as a gift (non lte), very happy to see the battery will be replaceable in a few years when it struggles to hold a charge!
My watch stopped charging suddenly and thought it was the charger, went through 2 more and several plugs...finally took it in and they said nothing they could do, to take it to batteries plus to have them change it out, they don't do that here and so I took a chance and bought the battery myself. This video helped me change it and it's working!! Thank you!

@@Joesge Great video. How can one identify if the battery is gone? Is there some troubleshooting guide around to eliminate other potential causes? I have one of these and it literally does nothing. I have tried several tricks to force restart but I bet it is hardware problem. Is the battery usual failure point? Thanks

We only know of the otriginal batteries that work the best.

No unfortunately not
Quick question hypothetically speaking, if there was a battery thats the same size as the one inside but it has more watts could we use that battery instead of the recommended one?

No they are different and not interchangeable
Still water resist after the replacements?
Yes, as long as when you pry off the back cover the seal wasn't damaged.

What size Phillips screwdriver?

samsung gw4 is the best smartwatch on android wear, tag heuer connected hasn't a replacement battery

Nope, should work as you left it.
This is probably a dumb question, but would a hair dryer be a good replacement if you don't have the heat gun?

Nope. If it had a air flow vent on the back cover it would burn you, and wouldn't be waterproof.

I replaced the battery in mine and now the physical ring that spins around the edge doesn't work. Any ideas why it might not work any longer and maybe how to fix it? I can only find information on what to do when it won't spin right. It spins fine, it just doesn't seem to do anything any longer when I spin it. Like I disconnected it or soemthing, but I have gone through and opened it up and looked around for anything I might have missed, watched this video, read online with websites, and as far as I can tell I did everything correctly and yet it does not work.

Hi I'm a repair tech and unfortunately it will not be as water resistant as before so I wouldn't go swimming with it for a while

@@Narkissos_1 So i think the battery will last around 2 years and i wouldnt replace it but would upgrade since you can use it as a trade in i have the Watch 4 classic 46mm and its survived since its release (a little over a year ago) with little to no battery degradation.

It all depends how you put it back together:)
At $65 for a battery, I think I would just trade it in and get newer model.
