Getting started in video with your Fujifilm camera is not as complicated as it seems. Photographers tend to overcomplicate things - settings, codecs, audio equipment, gimbals, etc. After 5 years of making videos, I figured out the cheat code to easy video for photographers… and you can apply this cheat code to any camera: the Fujifilm X100VI, the X-T5, the X-S20, even your smart phone.

Beautiful videography as always and great insights shared. Thank you!
Thanks Reggie. Great tips as always.
Thank you for context my friend, im always looking forward to new videos. As always you never disappoint :)
appreciate the comment!
Been waiting for this video for a while, and it did not disappoint! Thanks for sharing your insights and making things so direct and approachable
Thanks for the feedback Ryan. What did you find the most helpful?
@@Reggiebphoto the idea of what to video. Finding a good scene that has good lighting and subject already, then just set the video up. Seems obvious in hindsight but I was always waiting for a moment first, then I’d be too late. Excited to try your approach!
This is incredibly useful information. Thank you!
What did you find most useful?
Thank you Sir, great tips ever
Very cool!..appreciate your insight!..
Another great video, I always learn something from watching you. Thanks Reggie!
You’re welcome!
Useful video and a sensational frame at the very start of it.
Thanks 🙏🏽
Awesome content, Reggie. I’m learning as I go with my X-S20 and X-T5. Been shooting at 30fps but will give the 24fps a try.
30 fps will work fine too. Just set your shutter speed to 1/60
Gem of a content man
Appreciate you
Super helpful, simple yet I always forget to get video while i have a nice frame for a pic 👍
Yup, it's something easy to overlook, but literally takes 20 seconds and it could be super useful later on.
I'll pass by the channel you mentioned. This was all too helpful. Thanks Reggie.
Thanks 🙏🏼 really good info! Short and to the point. Do you know if ibis + ios lens is working together on fuji? For the xs20 and xf 18-55 lens. Otherwise I’m considering the sigma 18-50 2.8 which has no ios. But a nice 2.8 constant diafragma. Have a nice day 💪🏼🥂
I believe it does but I don’t know for sure
Great work.
Which recipe did you Film with? Would like to see your settings/process 😊
All the intro footage was shot in log with the xs20 and Panasonic Lumix s5ii and color graded.
Slick! How did you achieve those nostalgic glowy lights at the beginning? And what are your advice for those who are relatively new in shooting - f/log vs in-camera recipes, since I'd suppose that color grading is a whole new thing to learn about as well.
I used a diffusion filter. And Just shoot in camera recipes for now.
Hi Reggie! Thank you for this video. I have a question, is there a way to automate the ISO and aperture (maybe just set the shutter based on frame rate and forget it) for people that are just so used to shooting with a handy cam?😅 I need a camera capable of taking good videos but operates pretty automatically for my husband who doesn’t like to fiddle around with settings. I have the xs20 and still learning how to get the best video out of it.
Yeah just set it to shutter priority at 1/48s, set aperture to A, set to auto iso.

Thanks Dee 🙏🏽
What are the practical steps to keep the audio -12db ?
Change your gain level to the scene until the peak sound doesn’t last -12 dB
Reggie can you make a video with your settings for video?
Which settings?
@@Reggiebphoto yes exactly! The settings you use when recording video on a Fuji camera (I have the X100VI)
No, I’m serious. Which settings are you specifically wanting to know?
@@Reggiebphoto Hi Reggie, just looking for a beginner video settings setup like settings for Movie Mode (aspect ratio, frame rate, bit rate), AF settings, etc. I have not looked SUPER thoroughly.. but with many people getting the X100VI I think there is a missing hole for a great youtube video on video setup settings :)
@delawn4532 I here you. Unfortunately I don’t have an x100vi at the moment
Did you tweak your portra simulation for the X100VI? Is it any different from the X100V - I am talking about photos not video
Would be grateful for an answer
Should be exactly the same. The sensor for the x100vi is the same as the xt5
@@Reggiebphoto thank you!
