- Ive borrowed this malmsteen strat for a few days from a friend so i decided to do something in the style of mr yngwie.

It's been quite a while since I came across this clip. Hearing it again makes me say a number of things:
1) Gear chosen for this clip adds to deliciously re-creating a YJM feel without other YJM drawbacks!
2) Chops played really reflect taste, perception and knowledge
3) Few people can achieve that regarding this track
4) It was a pleasure after all!
This video should have more views, probably the best interpretation of this song on CZcams.
This guy is like a sign from God that I suck as a guitarist. LOL. I love Blue by Yngwie.. and Alex's take on it is beautiful. Sir.. You are my new favorite guitarist. Amazing!
If you watch this video enough times and keep replaying it, you can play every note he plays. He owns a scalloped neck ywgwie guitar so he's clearly obsessed. Put him in a situation where he has to hold a Gibson les paul and play something out of his comfort zone and he'l show his weaknesses. Don't try to be a "good" guitar player, be an "interesting" guitar player, and I think you can only be a "great" guitar player when you have a band with no weak links and great songs.

Your sound is very close to Yngwies sound in this song. Probably my favorite Malmsteen song. Nice rendition!

He doesn't even do the "finger-tapping" that makes so many guitarists sound fastner than they can actually pick the notes! He actually PLAYS it. AMAZING!

for example, when you play a sequence 3-notes-per-string and move from the 6th string to the 1st, you pick like this way (starting from downstroke): down-up-down-down-up-down-down-up-down etc.
So to move to the next string you just use sweep.
