Hello everyone, this is “Sumi”.
In September 2022, We went to Carcassonne, a walled city in southwestern France.
The town is located in the Aude department in the south of France.
Carcassonne is the oldest walled city in Europe, surrounded by double walls. There is a village within the walls. Carcassonne is the second most popular tourist destination in France after Mont-Saint-Michel.
More than 2 million tourists visit every year, and it is said that in France, "You can't die without seeing Carcassonne."

If you like reading, especially historical fiction then I recommend Kate Mosse…. Not the fashion model but the author. She writes books that are historically accurate even including some historical people but writes fictions stories around them. One set of her stories are set in Carcassone in medieval times during the religious persecutions. I forget the name of them right now but just look her name up and you’ll find them. Having visited Carcassone it will really bring the books to life now.
There is a history book set in Carcassonne! thank you for teaching me! When you visit historical places that you have seen in books, anime, movies, etc.,It's very moving to know that the depiction of that time is real !! There was a souvenir shop in the castle of Carcassonne, where many historical books and picture books were sold.I didn't buy it because it was too heavy to carry around while traveling, but I should have bought it!
