The skit is supposed to end with the customer asking the old butcher to explain to the police officer how he lost his pants. The butcher replies, "You got a number?" And the the skit ends with the police officer hauling the angry customer out of the butcher shop.***

It is not simply the script that was amusing but the imagination that went into the musical meat and cheese that were impressive.
Everything he touched was GOLD... especially how many times he got the rest of the cast to break character
Comedy cures all. These were two exceptional people who could make us laugh at anything.
I am so grateful these comedy skits are still available for us to watch today in 2022..the genius of Tim and Harvey to have us rolling on the floor laughing out guts out, noone today can match..🤣🤣🤣🤣

This was a time when the whole family could watch TV together (I was a kid). When my children were small, I had to block channels and still monitor what they watched. So glad these were preserved for them to enjoy now. Always will be great classic comedy.

Amazing enough, their special reunion episode said that Sir Lawerence Olivier was in the audience this skit and Harvey was extremely nervous because he was his idol. So much so he forgot to wear boxers during the pant ripping scene. Priceless.

Used to love these old shows growing up. Harvey and Tim were priceless.

Tim was the best. Loved him since I was young, especially the dentist one. They just don't make decent comedy anymore. You need to also see him and Harvey on Diagnosis Murder. Great as usual.
I watched this 40 years ago,still hilarious, Tim & Harvey made my guts ache every programme along with Carol!!

Man I miss this show Carol Burnett with Tim Conway it's the most hilarious program that ever produced and put on Television. Yes there we're many and THOSE WHERE THE DAYS.
Tim's at his best as the old man. He's so cute when he's doing this character.
Psychologists and therapists should use comedy therapy for people who suffer from conditions such as depression, anxiety, sadness, etc. The Carol Burnett Show is one that would definitely produce some laughter which is good for the body and mind.

I remember when I was 15 years old my uncle did the number calling bit at his tire shop , the day before he closed shop for good , the customer got so pissed , my uncle said" he always wanted to do that it was epic. Mr Conway will be missed!!
