I'm currently going up from bronze (didn't play for 3 seasons) and it's been so competitive even at the low ranks, I'm definitely liking this new system for more "methodical" play.

@@Torpid6441 I rushed plat in the first few days of the split and had a bunch of games like that, it was during/shortly after sweet did his stream so maybe it was temporary? Every team in those games had at least one masters trail, so maybe they were just seasoned rats lmao
I love the new Robot legend healing animations. Pathfinder counts down the last 4 seconds on his fingers so you don't have to look at the timer anymore. Super cool

The current ranked system is cool but I struggle to go up. I'm a gold/plat player and I can barely move up. Bronze feels like Plat, I get killed by Diamond and Masters all the time
Remember Bronzer, Silver, Gold ext... labels are just for image, it has no factor into where your placement is. The MMR score places you with people you are similar to in skill. Every rank will have a set of lobbies for a wide range of players, this means though that climbing through each lobbies is going to be hard because you are realistically always facing people you should be.
@@rumplestiltskin3441 You actually highlighted the 2 problems I have with the new system: first your rank doesn't mean anything anymore (mmr matters), but rank is still supposed to be the main goal of the mode. Second, in the other games I like, the ranked system's matchmaking almost always makes it so that it's easy early on, and gets tougher as you climb. Here on the other hand you'll always be with opponent's with similar skill to you, making the experience pretty stagnant and discouraging.
Don't fight early game (unless the fight is unavoidable), there's no point in doing so. Land, loot then Rotate to circle early, hang around the edge & hold out to top 10. As long as you consistently hit top 10, you'll rank up.
This system is all about placement, not kills.

I’m still a lil confused on how this hidden system works.
If I’m playing with two mates, would they be playing in lobbies that are on my skill level? Or would it be a combination of all three?
It will put you in the highest MMR rated players lobbies. But will give the lower skilled players a shit ton of bonus points if they perform well while there
I suspect it’s heavily weighted towards time played cos I suck ass at apex but play lots as I usually have fun. This rank split its put me in bronze 4 and every game since I’ve had plat/predators in it. Never happened before and I have no right to be in their games. Basically unplayable.

The ranked lobbies just feel right with the new mmr, well balanced.

I hope somebody makes a mod like BakkesMod for Rocket League, where you can have your MMR on display when you queue up for ranked, or when you look at the "your squad" tab. BakkesMod for Rocket League shows your MMR, as well as your teammates and your opponents whenever you pull up the scoreboard, so itll be cool to see something like that come to apex if the devs decide to stick w/ this mmr based system

i did solo placement and won 5 games in a row.. My next 3 games were in predator lobbies but i was still solo. Didn't make sense to me that my teammates were just average vs preds..
Everybody got reset to rookie so it's Everybody vs Everybody, regardless of last seasons rank, it places you in you're proper rank after you do you're 10 placement matches. Problem IS it's everyone vs everyone so you got people who are diamond or lower dying to people who are pred, which is causing bad games for those mid to high tier average players, which causes players to be set in a lower rank than they actually belong in.
I was diamond like 2 splits ago and didn't play it every day or anything but man those placement games were nothing but preds, masters, and diamond players lol. Have a few early deaths and it puts u in bronze... I even had some 8 kill 2k games in the placements and still got out in bronze.

New ranked licks balls I usually get to mid plat but I’m not sure if I’ll make it out of bronze this season. After my 10 games I was placed in rookie and every game since I have died to players that were not only previously diamond or masters but most of them currently gold and platinum in my bronze lobby
Literally no point to ranked anymore because you can’t move up. If you want to play to actually rank up, you have to do just the opposite and not play. You have to hide in storm the whole match. What a joke of a game and everyone who backs up these changes are literally the reason this game is dying. L player base L devs and L game take your LGBTQ bullshit and shove it

My problem with ranked this season is I get paired with silvers as a current plat but I can't squad up with my friends that are currently silver......makes no sense

My best friend on the game, played 130 matches. Made masters, 0 dmg, 0 kills, 0, assists. This ranked season badge is worthless.

yeah so im a bronze 4 in diamond lobbies not been diamond since the last change in ranked and i have to sweat it every match. whats the point in having a ranked system if it just puts you in bronze 4 and you have to fight people in diamond??? just put me in diamond. so stupid i cant believe it
New rank rewards ratting. No fun. But the end games get wild when everyone is alive
Think people dont like MMR because if a new player comes in and shreds, they will have a hard time coming out of bronze since they will face those of similar skill but different rank. Unless the MMR is also tied to rank, it's something thats tough to balance

If this ranked system ain't busted then why at silver 4 playing with my buddies that are bronze 1s am I getting put in lobbies with masters and preds sitting in platinum 3 that's 3 tiers higher than my buddies and 2 higher than me so I should not be in lobbies with them weeks into the season

Please try this again but as a solo player, Iv done 3 stacks and ranked is easy.. as a solo it is super difficult with teammates that should not be in those lobbies.. is a different experience

@@MiixedMiinds I love his content but he simply isn’t going to ever be able to experience the pain of casual players as he is far too good at the game. Even as a bronze 4, and if he got preds/diamonds as I do, rich isn’t gonna struggle like we do.

@@truevanpencil5403 it’s not even about individuals skill, as I mentioned 3 stack games are easy and pred lobbies atm are being ran though like pub games.. yet as a solo in Dimond lobbies I have never had teammates who have ever been pred or masters before.. how does that work if my previous skill got me to pred or masters as a solo yet this season the backend data pairs me up with players that have never achieved this.. something is wrong..
Prev 2x diamond now Bronze 2 with packet loss 300 ping. solo Q getting nothing but 3 stack plat lobbies. Game is unplayable for me
