"Rather Be" has become one of my all time fav Brandy songs. It was on her 2020 album "b7". You should check the album out if you like experimental r&b. "Borderline" "Lucid Dreams" "Unconditional Oceans" etc are all fire too!

Jack Harlow can barely rhyme himself. lol Brandy and Jack aren’t even beefin’ for real. She put hearts under every comment she made “shading” him. She just used the situation to have fun, and garner a little bit of attention from the youth. That’s it. Everything was light hearted. People made it into something else. You don’t have to like her rap, but just know that she wasn’t really trying to diss Jack.
Oh, I know that. I know it was all jokes and she was coming off the heels of her show being canceled where she was a rapper so she was in her bag.
However when I hear music especially rap I tend to review it in earnest. So even though she was just having fun with the amount of women I've heard really rapping I felt she should've come harder just on the rapping I'm not worried about the beef element so much more so how well did she rap and the bars.
Regardless she is an OG and Uber talented.

She killed this. I have not seen her live is she actually solid live show performer. she has the actual vocal but are her stage shows well done or is more like she stands there and sings no real stage show.

This song is a recent song I believe she dropped her album B7, which this song is from, in 2020. She really did takes on a journey to the past with this record while keeping it current. Brandy is ultra talented. Another record from this album that harkens back to the 90s is Saving All My Love and it's 🔥🔥🔥

“Rather be” is from her album b7 that was released in July of 2020 dope record should have been released as single. She is the truth. The jack harlow thing was just a joke lol. People need to not take that so serious.
I didn't take her beef with him serious. More so if you want to rap I will judge it like I judge all rap.
My honesty was not met with a favorable reaction to her core fans lol.

Dope reaction. Loving ur channel a lot fam. I can see the effort u put in to the quality of the production. Keep grindin. And yeah, while I didnt hate the Jack Harlow verse, I just prefer Brandy as a singer - she can do no wrong there. This song is definitely 1 of her best.
Check out Victoria Monet's 'Moment'. This song was actually co-written by Victoria Monet, so sonically u may hear some similarities with this record and the Dive song u reacted to. Moment is on another level for me too.
It's not that I hated her verse just I'm listening to a lot of music and I judge everyone the same.
So I judged it like any other rap record I would do.
I totally agree though Brandy is a monster as a singer no one can deny the OG.
