After i ve seen her performances at the age of 11 i dont even feel we need to see her grow . I cant see what she s missing she already has the whole package and even more. She s a star .
A performing Artist is back on the scene, R&B is back, Courtney is the future of the next generation. I have been following music for over 50 years, and she is the new scene of the future.

I graduated high school in the early 70's and I'm a classic rock and roller to this day. This girl definitely takes me back and I love her. There are a couple videos of her at age 11, on line, that I am not ashamed to say brought tears to my eyes. One does not show her singing but is a recording of her singing Janis's "Take a Piece of My Heart" the other is a video of her singing "Who's Lovin You" by the Jackson 5.
To me her AGT audition was one of those special moments in music history, like the Beatles first American appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, Jimi Hendrix playing the "Star Spangled Banner" at Woodstock or Micheal Jackson's performance at MoTown 25. I hope that someday soon I will be fortunate enough to see her perform this kind of music in concert.
I made that very same Ed Sullivan connection. If he were alive today and had her on his show, she would be an instant sensation.

We are so fortunate to see the beginning of this girl's career in an age of accessibility - these first performances will always be there to put s special smile on my face and a tear in my eyes ❤🤪👌
She is perhaps the first genuine, naturally gifted vocalist which is a born performer. Winners on other shows etc. had no performing ability on the level she has. Amazing.
And her performance is a breath of fresh air from all the auto-tunes and pop music that dominate our world right now. If she will release an album with this same kind of energy and style, I will definitely buy it. Listening to her future album will be like having a wonderful journey.
Great reaction, guys. Funny thing is, I must have watched her original performances on AGT about 20 times, plus every reaction video to those performances I could find, and I still feel the same way as the first time I saw her. Raw unfiltered energy and talent: as rare as it is compelling, especially in a fourteen year old.

I just saw an interview of her. They asked her where she goes when she performs. You nailed it. She pictures herself in her bedroom. Therefore the rugs.

Love the dialogue as to how you come to your reactions 😁. She is very unique in her syle of singing, her style of dancing and how she controls her voice. I've never seen a singer dance as much as she does and it doesn't affect her singing!! Others you here them taking a breath to continue with the song, she does not! She's a wonder kind! As you said special. And to your point about labels controlling her, Simon Cowell said when he took his turn to respond, he told her to not listen to him or anyone else because it is her who makes it happen and why she's so unique. Also, about being shy. Think about how shy Michael Jackson and Prince were, but when they sang the became FREE! Just like she's FREE.😁

Simon said he + Howie should start a record label together, in the longer version of this video. I hope they do or that Simon signs her, because I would trust him or them handling her. I just pray the industry doesn't devour her.
I'm 56 and I've NEVER been captivated by ANY artist like I have been Courtney.
As a matter of fact if a friend hadn't shared her AGT audition on Facebook, I wouldn't know about any of this. I never liked those shows or cared about the latest 'pop star' whatever. And never was a 'big' music lover. Liked some artists + songs, bands + legendary performers.
I've only been to 2 concerts in my life.......
But I GUARANTEE you I WILL see Courtney in concert someday, probably more than once!
BTW, Courtney is channeling (especially the Janis Joplin performance), not possession, that is why you can see Courtney's personality in all of her performances. It is like their spirits are giving her a helping hand.

In the voice performance of nutbush city limits (Tina Turner's spirit)
But esp. Janis in her audition for AGT. I think because she was in so much emotional distress. If you watch the back story you'll see she was TERRIFIED of getting a red buzzer and getting sent back to England in disgrace. Remember she was only 13 + almost got sent home from her audition from the voice kids (nutbush city limits) but Danny Jones turned his chair at the last second!
As far as haters, there are some people who HATE MJ, Elvis, etc. Some who hate music period, and some who will hate you, just because everybody else likes you.....
So, like Mel B. said after this performance, 'Screw them, we get you!'

Took you two long enough to get around to reviewing the latest Courtney outing! Loved your views as always. The only opinion I 'd differ with is trying to compare Courtney with other people; especially of a completely dissimilar lifestyle! Courtz doesn't need a fix to go where she goes; she hails from "Gods Country" as NE England is known. The big test is when, like Grace Vanderwaal experiences from time to time, she is playing gigs where the Sound Engineer is not up to scratch where setting up the mic for vocals is concerned.
Strong; be gentle; Amy got caught up in the plague that is running wild in our country and like Janis, she paid the price; This in no way diminishes her artist accomplishments. Remember Courtney herself says she was influenced by less than pristine performers of the past; and like them all should be judged on their performances and not from their personal struggles.

I'm 67 so I've seen all them all. Felt Fillmore in the Garden, the Fillmore East, Woodstock, etc. She's extremely entertaining with a great range. She's set a high bar for herself so I hope she continues with upbeat, recognizable songs. Save the ballads for the 1st album.

Agree . . . Super-quirky, super-awkward super-cool dancing, like greats such as James Brown, Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, etc. who could also dance to the beat, but did so "weird-ishly".
Her singing style / song choices are super-dope, old-time R&B, rock & roll, etc from the 60's, 70's and 80's. She's just an old soul that would've fit better into an era 50 years ago with the likes of Janis Joplin, James Brown, etc.

I totally agree with you, guys, the 1st time I saw her was in her audition with Hard to handle: it was amazing, I looked for the original song by Otis Redding and it had nothing to do with Courtney's version which is better, I liked it, and as Howie said: she's not from this era, she's something special, she turns into another person when music starts to play, all the songs she sings she makes them hers and does it much better than the original, and every time I watch her videos, tears come to my eyes, she fills me and moves me a lot, I sing her songs every day. I love this girl.

Courtney's dad said no one in their family is musical. She started listening to soul singers and started to copy them-and the rest is history. She learned it all on her own. That is a prodigy.

Forget Beyonce forget MJ the best there has been was Freddie..To hold an audience to manipulate an audience to have them eating out of your hand there was no equal to Freddie or his voice. Freddie Mercury has no equal and if you want to see the greatest concert ever just watch Live Aid people clapped in time in Britain and the US no one EVER has done that .This girl has people standing clapping everytime she sings she gives me goose bumps the 60's/70's are back HELL YEAH :-)

Have you seen Courtney sing MJ's Ben with a rat on her shoulder? She nailed it as spooky as it was. We have not seen yet all that Courtney has to offer. In 2024, she has promised an album and none of her fans can wait. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later.
What I enjoy about your reviews and commentary is that you think it through, I can tell your reactions are genuine and you start to talk about the performer not as a reincarnation of one specific person. You look a little bit deeper and echo a lot of what we are feeling. So keep up the good work. In an interview, Courtney said that she has problems with social interactions. When singing, she is not nervous, Courtney changes into another world, into her own world. great indescribable talent.
