I think X-Factor is way better than No Prayer... and Fear of the Dark (and Virtual XI) I agree with many things you say here, but not all. To be honest, I actually like Judgement of Heaven. It's not the best song on the album, but it is way better than many other songs on the album. 2 A.M. on the other hand is quite bad. One of the worst lyrics on the album and it sounds a bit weak. Another thing I disagree on, is the overall lyrics on the album (with some exceptions). I think they, for the most, are good. Same is the sound on the album. The melodies could have been better since many songs sounds the same. Sometimes I have problems to hear the differences between The Aftermath, Look for the Truth and Fortunes of war since the all sounds a bit the same, but for me The Aftermath is the best of those three by far.
    Here is my list:
    Love:
    1. The Edge of Darkness
    2. Sign of the Cross
    3. Man on the Edge
    Very good songs:
    4. Lord of the Flies
    5. Judgement of Heaven
    Good songs:
    6. The Aftermath
    7. Blood on the World's hands
    Barely ok:
    8. Fortunes of War
    Terrible songs/Waste of time
    9. 2 A.M.
    10. Look for the Truth
    11. The Unbeliever
But this is only my opinion 👍

I think that you didn't understand the "spirit" of these record. The mood beyond that.

My least favorite album. Blaze is fine but its just too long and repetitive. Judgment of Heaven is fantastic though. 2am is the third worst song in their career.
