What if you only have the lowest speed? Would it possibly be the resistor

If you only have your highest speed, then it is most likely your resistor. Normally when you loose the resistor you only have low and hi, if you have lost low, but still have the rest of your speeds it could be the blower motor itself, or it could be in the controls.
