Oh, I miss this! My cousins and I used to pick morels by the ice cream pail full. Very tasty! Thanks to our parents, uncles and aunts for teaching us to find, ID and harvest them.

Simply THE best tasting mushroom ever! When I lived in B.C used to pick them all the time as they grew in the woods right by our home!

I’ve been 15 years in Canada and I still haven’t had the opportunity to forage. What are the guidelines? Where can you or cannot forage here in Manitoba?

Most provincial parks and forests are open to foraging with some exceptions. National parks are usually closed to forage. Crown land in your area is a good option. And private land with Permission is a great option.
