  • A VHS recorded program from 1986 that summarizes the first 10 years of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball club. Fun recounting of the history of the first years of the team, things seemed a lot simpler back then. How did all this time fly by so fast?

I grew up watching these guys in the early to mid 80s. Right when I started watching baseball.

I was at the game shown here vs the Yankees in 85 when they lost the first chance to clinch the AL East…we were so close, it seemed a certainty that they were going to win…and then it all came crashing down. Devastating. But then they won it the next day and all was just fine. Lots of great memories in this video.

For you real Toronto baseball fans who remember the original Toronto Maple Leafs Triple A International League affiliate of the Bosox. Last game in 1967 after 42-years.

Remember skipping off high school in 1977 and going to the inaugural Jays Opening Day (snowing!) at the CNE! WE WON! 15-years later TWO back-to-back WS! Since then .... NOTHING!! 🙄

One thing that bothers me is that they act like Toronto fans were unfamiliar with baseball, we had the minor league Maple Leafs at the old Maple Leaf Stadium for many decades, any baseball fan older than 60 will remember Handlebar Hank.
