  • The Ecodiesel 3.0 and the 8HP70 transmission came out of a 2016 Ram 1500. Power to the axles is via an Atlas 2 twin stick transfer case with 3.8:1 ratio. Thank you to Sofa King tuned for providing the necessary tune, Chris Squire at Hotwire.com for building the wiring harnesses, Russell Drake of Sound German Automotive for the transmission gateway and programming, and a big thank you to Chuck a friend and gifted mechanic who got all these pieces programmed and working together.

Now that’s a wicked Willy’s. A unique daily driver of caliber. That thing screams pride all over it. No automobile that I am fonder of than a Toledo Ohio native. ❤️🤍💙

Thank you! If you are planning to use an EcoDiesel, be sure to reach out to the vendors I listed above as they know what you need. Chris at HotWireAuto.com knows what you need for the wiring and he has been excellent to work with. I don't get any money for these recommendations. Also Kevin at Axis Industries has the adapter for the 8HP70 to Atlas 2 transfer case and lots of other stuff useful in this conversion. I am telling you this because there is very little support for this engine swap and these guys are awesome and know what you need. Best of luck in your build! 😎

I have a F250 high pinion 8 lug 44 in the front and a Dana 60 in the rear.

Unless I missed it did you use the original chassis with this build ?

I did because it was clean with no rust. However I did box the frame and replaced the original crossmembers with 2x4 steel custom fabricated to fit. I extended the front of the frame with 2x3 .25" wall to fit the winch mount. That also allowed room for a big bore Saginaw steering gear.
