Pens are winning out and going to make playoffs because the caps are not actually good (check the goal differential) and with Wilson missing some games and isles (sorry JB) sucking ball sacks, as well as the redwings. Pens have a decent shot.. but they have to win out which is going to be tough but they’re not out of it!!

17:52 I think it will all really depend on how their in-game play looks during the playoffs. They definitely need to get past the first and second round and deeper into the third. Their play in the third round really will matter. If the games are close and the team's in game play is sound and they end up losing in seven games. Then I think we can all agree that that would be a positive post season performance. After all it is NHL playoff hockey, it isn't easy.

I think a good way to frame the Hart question is "If you knew the season that players A, B, C would have at the beginning of the season, which player would be preferred by the majority of teams if they could be picked up for free." MacKinnon has had an MVP caliber season. Tampa may be subject to fall off the worst if Kuch wasn't there. But I would bet that looking at all three of their seasons, if you asked every GM in the league to pick one of the three and they can be on your team for the year with no cap implication well over 50% would take McDavid.

Would you give Cowan (upgrade on Dewar), Minten (upgrade on Gregor), Timmins (Brodie replacement), Robertson, Lajoie (Giordano replacement) and Benoit a game in the playoffs to give them a little playoff experience this year heading into next year?
There’s no way those guys are getting in the playoffs. Cowan and Minten are playing against kids …The NHL is the real deal. It seems both Cowan and Minten are labelled as the next ones for the leafs . Hey remember what happened with Knies last season. ..He was touted as the steal of the draft by the leafs. Watching him you can see he’s not that special.
@@SillySongs4Everyone2001 I think the problem with Knies is that he dominated along the boards in college and he is having trouble in the NHL doing the same thing. When he rounds out his game, he will be pretty good. As for Minten and Cowan, they will need to penalty kill (the same goes for Robertson) and they will likely be in the playoffs next year. I think giving them a taste for next year's run is a really prudent idea.

@@beakfast6978 How would you play Cowan? And Minten was already on the team. Imagine Cowan coming in and scoring big goals in the playoffs. Does Minten have more offensive upside than the guys we have on the 4th line? Are they good enough defensively?
Cowan and Minten are kids. They need to develop, both physically, and mentally. They're not even close to being ready for NHL playoffs.
