Thanks for a true nostalgia trip! Back then I was in secondary school, and close to my school there was a model shop. They had a huge range of Esci, so I remember most of those kits. I mainly built 1/72 tanks, and their kits were a mile away from rather horrible Airfix tanks. Especially modern armour was just mind blowing: M48 and M60 variants, Leopards, M113 variants... No one else had that variety. As for the dioramas, I remember I had 5 of those: D Day, El Alamein, Iwo Jima, Tet offensive, and some Eastern front... probably Kursk related, I just remember I added more Russian tanks to it. Oh, the model shop is stil there, with same old Esci sticker on front door as they had when I was 13-15. My boys can't quite figure out why I always stop and stare it silently for a few seconds, when we go there to buy a pot of paint or whatever. Esci forever 😍

When Airfix went bust Esci stepped in to save the world. Italeri are doing a good job with re-releases; the old reboxed Esci kits are still good quality.

Esci had a great range of model kits! I once owned the 48th scale A7E Corsair and I painted it in that same color scheme shown on the box in 1991 during the first Gulf War, and I have the rally Escort from when Revell Germany re-released it in the early 2000s. The diorama sets depicting the major battles in WW2 were fascinating; wonder how much those kits would be worth now? Are the other historical figure sets the ones Italeri has in its range now, or did Italeri come up with its own? It's good to see that Italeri and Revell Germany are keeping the old kits alive, because they were some interesting subjects.

Still think their 1/72 Sea Harrier the best; also had very good 1/72 and 1/48 Huey's.
Got several of the 1/24 Paratrooper Land Rover kits on close out from Squadron back in late '80s.... like $5 each! Wish I got the soft top 109" to cross kit to a military one.
Some really great kits, glad Italeri rereleasing many.

@@MOS6510Models yes they do; bought one a few years back, exactly the same as ESCI one I built 30 years ago. Same for the GR 3. Very finely engraved panel lines; ejection seat pretty bad, may want to modify/replace inlet cowls (I actually cut each individual one open! No resin replacements in '90!).
It's also included in the 2012 Italeri Falklands combo kit with a Sea Harrier and HU 5 Wessex.

hi, i was building some of 1/35 scale kits, very good figures, but the weapons and some details was swopped with tamiya and the vehicles was fun but
challenging to build because of mismatch, you needed lots of tape, but it was fun
