What good does it do to boycott, not watching and being all butt hurt by it. Consider the source which continues to prove our point: that they intend to do evil, they intend to harm, and they do it all in order to wound people’s hearts-which is their ultimate goal. I'm sorry but the lack of response by the pope regarding this blasphemy is more than JUST disappointing! We have muslim leaders speaking out against this and NOTHING from the head of the Catholic church representing billions of people around the world. Just disgusting but not surprising! Not absolutely sure about this, but I think Pope Francis perhaps didn't comment because the Church hierarchy are not meant to get involved in "the details" of temporal affairs, except in special circumstances (perhaps when it relates directly to the spiritual sphere or when it involves grave violations of fundamental human rights?) Instead, making such comment perhaps rather belongs to the mission of the laity, such that the laity should 'speak up' about such things, but not the Church hierarchy.

I agree that altar servers should be boys bc it gets the boys involved in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Holy Eucharist in a very meaningful way at an early age. At the same time, there should be a meaningful group for the girls to join so that they don’t feel left out or needless resentment or jealousy. When I was in grade school, we had a group called the “Children of Mary” lead by a very enthusiastic nun, and we had meetings while the boys were at altar boy practice. We wore blue capes and our First Holy Communion veils and we made the five first Saturdays as our main devotion. It was great! This was very important to me, especially since I had three brothers and no sisters.
I also think term limits for the Supreme Court is over due. None should serve past age 70

Why did the Olympic executives think it was alright? Easy answer is that they all agree with the French organisers. And these people will continue with their campaigns to discredit Christianity unless Catholics and Catholic leaders do more to protect the faith instead of just mere protests. And there is much that we can do. For one, we can all help Donald Trump to win the presidency.
Even Mr. Trump condemned the blasphemous show at the Olympics. But, Jill Biden loved the mockery of the Last Supper.

I don't mean this in an offensive way, but like someone told me, notice how people don't mock Islam, probably because they know it would cost them their life as that is part of Islamic law. What about Judaism? Imagine the uproar that would follow, label it a hate crime. So why do we as Christian Catholics seem to always be the punching bag? Because we are too afraid to speak up and tell others the Truth, they know we'll stay quiet.
It's been this way for far too long and it'll only continue to get worse and these blasphemers will continue to get more bold. The solution is that we stop being so passive and silent, we need to speak up and say we will not tolerate this kind of mockery and targeted hate. If someone says they hate Mohammed or Islam they're considered a bigot and are cancelled, if someone says they hate Jesus Christ or Christianity they are actually celebrated and applauded. This isn't even made up, this is literally what's happened.
I encouraged everyone to step up with me and stop denying Christ. Next time someone insults you for your faith and being a follower of Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, you don't have to repay evil with evil, you just have to tell the truth and tell them you tolerate their beliefs and do not insult them, so it's not right for them to be intolerant to your beliefs and insult you. If it happens at work, speak up and tell HR. No more staying silent and being trampled on because the longer they get away with it the further they'll take it.
Just how omission is a sin of bearing false witness, staying silent when others openly disrespect our faith may even be considered a sin as well, it's definitely denying Christ in my humble opinion.
Praise the Lord God our Father. Lord show us your mercy and heal our ailments. Protect us against Corona Virus Pandemic. For our family and near and dear ones. For our spiritual and temporal wants. Mother Mary pray for us. St Eusebius of Vercelli pray for us

Thank you for the plug for Bill Donohue's book"Cultural Meltdown." I received it on the 24th of July and I've only read 69 pages so far. The quote I love the most so far is on page 15. "Intellectuals tend to regard themselves highly-even when others do not. When they feel underappreciated, they console themselves by looking down on the plebians. They assure themselves that we are too parochial and ignorant to recognize their superiority. If we were only more sophisticated, we wouldn't look to God for answers to personal and social problems. We would look to them. Yes they often sneer-they love to sneer-at God and His faithful." Pg.15, top. I hardly made it past the first three sentences I was laughing so hard. Plus Bill composes with multiple sentences paragraphs. A sign of someone who has something prudent to say.
When the pope finally did say something, it was that he was sad for the offended Christians and others. I was shocked there was no mention of the offense to God or the need for us to make reparations. God have mercy on us all.

I don't know why everybody's so high on Jonathan Roumie. He misquoted Jesus's words when he recited the line "I am the law." That's not just 19:09 unbiblical, it is blasphemy. People want to sit and complain about the Olympics, but why is there no outrage over misquoting Jesus and completely changing the meaning of Jesus's work on the cross? Jesus born under the law and came to fulfill the law. Jesus never stated he is the law. If that were the case anyone who didn't follow the law of Moses would in essence be rejecting Christ. Can we have a little outrage over that? I doubt anyone will even read this comment but it needs to be stated, so I did.

I read today in the New Oxford Review July-August 2024, p.7, about the Greek term Katechon meaning restrainer. Pope Benedict XVI is seen as the restrainer of these forces which want to wipe out the Catholic Church. This episode was excellent in the importance of the news that was covered, especially the Olympic segment and the Altar Boy segment. However, the connection between the 2 was not made. My belief is that the Olympic blasphemy was made possible by the grave error of allowing girls to serve as altar boys. That's what started this whole transgender movement. As the church goes, so goes the culture.
As Mr. Donahue pointed out, this is only a phenomenon of the West where the Latin Church is prevalent. Notice that transgenderism isn't prevalent where the Orthodox or Eastern Catholic Churches dominate. This is because they still only have vested males serving at the altar! Rather than prayers and conventions, we just need to go back to male-only altar servers. That would be much more results-oriented.
I very agree with all the reasons given by the priest justifying the use of only boys as my own experience is that I couldn't wait to be a 5th grader and become an altar boy so that I could hang out with the 8th grade altar boys who were on traveling sports teams and on their way to elite prep schools. I would have definitely passed on this great ministry had I seen recruitment posters featuring girls.
The Olympic blasphemy was also a product of our Church's really dumb Washing of the Feet ceremonies where more and more women' feet are being washed.

A bit of theological sophistication is needed here. Christ's presence in the Eucharist is a real presence and a Sacramental one. A Sacrament is a visible symbol of an invisible reality. So, if you break the host in two, it does not bleed. And that's because the presence is "Sacramental." Well, I hope that helps.

This blasphemy was directed specifically at the Catholic Church. The 'halo' surrounding the central figure's head looked like the Eucharist to me! Mr. Jolly entitled this display as "La Cene, sur la scene, sur la Seine", which translates to "The Last Supper, on the stage, on the river Seine ". And if you go further and google "la cene' in lower case letters, it means "Holy Communion ' Mr. Jolly cannot gaslight that fact. But God answered swiftly, and in a "power full" way. The next night Paris was plunged into darkness by a massive power outage; and the ONLY bright light shining was the Catholic basilica of the Sacred Heart, where 24/7 Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is ongoing for 137 years!! Talk about sending a message!!
But Francis aproved it by BEING SILENT.
