please do a dirt buggy!! This carpet stuff is interesting, but dirt would be really nice too!!!
one thing you didn't talk about when testing the glue was that the tire is broken in/worn down a little after each run. While it probably isn't a huge deal back to back for this test, it is something that needs to be taken into consideration. But yeah, gluing the sidewall and maybe a little more is huge, especially on high grip tracks. Tires do have a sweet spot where the perform their best, it might be new out of package, slightly worn in, etc.
As for the the outer row on the back tire, that is more useful for getting rid of side bite in the center of the turn. It will also free up the rear end a bit more, and might help with catching a rut when on power out of a turn (lets the tire slip over some of the bumps, while still giving great forward bite.
On a side note, normally the inside row doesn't need to be removed, just the outer and probably gluing the sidewall.
The thing sounds like a nitro buggy when accelerating :O
At the end there is a nitro car on the dirt track in the back so that’s why it sounds like that
Thanks for the little shout out posting the comments at the beginning. I thought that was cool to see my comment and so did my kids
Glad the CA glue idea worked for off-road carpet too!!!
Keep the video’s rolling love to watch them.
It's because of comments like yours we were able to get our tires dialed, and share it with the world. Thank you for contributing to the videos Thomas!

Schumacher Cactus Fusion yellow are love
I'm glad you tried the Cactus Fusion 😁👍
legend has it hes still gutted to this day about that snapped arm. his face said it all :c
You guys need to do another 1/8 scale series after this one😁
If you try again wipe out/smooth the outer edge nubs/ribs only first leaving just a row or two of inners. The inner ribs will grab for turn in, once car rolls the smooth outer shoulder should give progressive break-away and help prevent traction rolling.
Yuss ive been waiting for this ive been waiting for more on this series
We do the same experiments with our Crawlers tires!
We bought a lot of cheap tires, a selection of good quality tires (Proline, Traxxas, Duratrax, Rc4wd...) and test them in the same subset of obstacles (mainly hard rock).
Our goal is to change tire shape/knobs and foam shape, to get best performance from cheap tires to reach best quality tires when possible.
Is really a funny job !
We hope you will talk about this argument with your experience in a future video...
Great idea! Making changes and testing results can be very rewarding.
-Brett
I’m very glad my suggestion helped
Do some nitro stuff! Like the kyosho build
Nice video Brett, good info there!
Great video guys thanks!
Stiffer swaybar in front & soft in rear helps. Hard too see in video but looks like thick & stiff in the rear. More caster on front helps.
Outstanding!!!!!
If you want even less edginess, you could always play around with the suspension.
i know Im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
@Maverick Pierce thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Maverick Pierce WTF IT ACTUALLY WORKED! Just got access to my ig login after about 45 mins by using the site.
Just had to pay 15$ but for sure worth the price =)
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
Surprised didn't try just stagger or slime staggers instead of wide staggers.
Why not change the shock oil instead or add/subtract traction bars? Also, what did the manufacturer suggest based on the track surface? When I raced as an enthusiast and there were pros in the pits, they were always happy to offer setup tips for their sponsored vehicles. If you were really lucky, they might even give out "beta" parts, like special suspension hubs made for a certain track or conditions.
Hi Brett , great video, it’s got a mow hawk rotflmao 🤪 really enjoyed this video, super informative, right down to an eighteen, impressive man. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
I run the cactus fusion on outdoor turf/carpet and no modifications to the tire. I dont gave a traction roll issue, I run rode hight at 15 depending on the layout
AMAIN ROCKS !!!!!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
i want to get in to this hobby, but dont know where to start. id love to build a kit tho, it looks so fun.
It’s supposed to be “knobs.” The “k” is silent. Excellent video! You guys have me itching to get into the racing scene
Fast fast fast
Brett the other tires that you could try on carpet are jconcepts dirt webs in the blue compound I have 2 sets front and rear. They are Awesome. Just another idea/suggestion for you. Aaron
why is 4:42 so satisfying
If you want another suggestion for 4wd front tyres, strangely enough the wide staggers are really good if you take the center row out.
Hey Brett, try the jcon swaggers and nessi combo, I use those on my 4 wheel and like them a lot more, also when gluing if u do the side wall and go up to the first tred but not cutting it off it works a lot better
Good tip. We didn't try using only glue, but I can see how that would help. Adding glue seemed to make the biggest difference of all tests. Thanks.
-Brett
Oh man these videos are dangerous, I just talked myself out of getting a 4wd buggy....
Btw, would you mind linking the sidewall gluing video in the description so it's easier to find?
Thanks for the awesome videos.
Yes, thank you. You can also find it here: czcams.com/video/nb8p6z33z3A/video.html
-Brett
Yeaaaaaay
You figured out Schumacher tires are best, now run the Cat L1 Evo and hit a 16 flat.
You know i'd just try skinnier tires they weigh less, are generally stiffer like the glued sides because the rubber sidewalls are closer and they just have less knobs to begin with
Thanks for all the useful information lately! I have more questions!! I just got a brushless losi mini 2.0, what can i do to keep the wheels on the ground? I noticed the front wheels don’t really grip the ground and it drives straight even when the wheels are turned. Can i add weights in the wheels or to the front? Is that just how 2wd handles? Should you let off the throttle around turns because i noticed it has a lot more traction and turns a lot sharper when i release the throttle around corners. I want to drive on dirt mostly so would you suggest using the rear wheels for the front too?
Letting off the throttle is the best move. These powerful 2WD vehicles like to lift the front end up which makes it really hard to turn. The best move is to let up on the throttle, make your turn, and get back on-throttle during corner exit. There are also weights available to tune the vehicle, which may be beneficial, even if only 5g or 10g worth. This stuff is backed by sticky tape: www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc-self-stick-chassis-weight-strip-2-120g-4.2oz-ptk-8380/p456777
Hope that helps Drew. Have fun.

Love these carpet racing vids. When's the next one?
Maybe a few weeks out? It's hard to tell with the Holiday busyness here.
-Brett
Proline tires....try those next!
Awesome video!,.ive got a dhk hunter, & was wondering if you all deal with parts for other, old rc's?? I'm realy thinkn of building a track car..,im mostly a crawler..help!! You all have a great weekend!!
We stock the parts we can get, but the difficulty with older cars is the parts being discontinued, and un-orderable. So we stock what we can.
-Brett
knobs is spelled with a "K" in the front. watching as im considering jumping into 4wd class
Im my view as rc salesman my opinion is that. You have to find it by yourself that what is your best choice for tire compound at your location.
What is the best budget 1/10 buggy racer in your opinion?
Probably PR Racing, not tried them myself but I've heard good things about them.
Did you put the foams in the the front tires
I know that this is a little of topic but 2hy don't you have a traxxas x-maxx?
What does gluing the side wall do? Stiffen it up so that the sidewall doesn't roll under it in the turns?
it makes the sidewall slick as if the car try to get up on two wheels it looses the grip as soon as it is in angle to make contact with the glued part.
could you pls do a rustler vxl 4x4 turned into a carpet racer
Hi Guys, just found this video now. would this actions/steps work on astro as well?
You bet, but the tire selection and tire trimming needs will vary.
-Brett
what about playing with the springs looks a little soft...
I noticed the rc4wd bead lock wheels for the scx24 no longer say they will be shipping November 10th When will they be coming if y’all know?
Looks like it's been pushed back to Nov 16th. After making our SCX24 video, we can't get them fast enough. Very sorry for the extended wait.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies no problem, what about all the other parts on back order 😂 ( this thing is so popular) any idea when a shipment of any of that comes in?
What kinda boxes do you guys use to ship your products? Does it mention any hobby stuff or is the box plain so no one can get an Idea of what’s inside because Sadly my car got stolen by the postal service i saw on camera as they drove past my house saying that the package was delivered at my front door
NO! That makes me mad Drew. Really sorry to hear that. Our shipping boxes are plain brown boxes with no lettering, same with the tape. However, we ship some models in their original packaging, which sometimes does have model information printed on it. But our boxes are always plain brown. Please always check the "Require Signature" when you checkout with expensive packages. I'll never have anything expensive shipped again without a signature required, it's a must. Are you covered with any insurance, is there anything that can be done?
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies i thought i clicked for it to required a signature, but ups then transferred it to my local post office who was supposed to deliver it. I’ve been to the post office and showed proof of them not delivering it and the postmaster got the carrier for that day and asked him about it and what a coincidence that 3 days later the deliverer says he remembers where he put it and will return it to my house🤦🏼♂️ apparently he dropped it off like 6 houses down but the thing is is that i already ask all my neighbors if they got a package and they said no so I’m still waiting and still very sus about the whole thing
@@drewbooFPV Hmm interesting. If it was delivered to the wrong house, they should take care of you. That's not acceptable. Really sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope this all gets squared away.
-Brett
Try adding a front spoiler
Where can you get hpi Rc cars want to buy some but I can’t find anywhere to buy it online
Shoot, that's a great question and I'm not really sure. AMain used to carry their line of vehicles and parts, but now that we aren't, it's much more difficult to find their products.
-Brett
did you use foam on the cactus fusion fronts?
Yes, they were the pre-mounts and they have foams: www.amainhobbies.com/schumacher-cactus-fusion-2-front-2.2-1-10-4wd-buggy-premounted-turf-tire-2-yellow-schu6898/p1347646?v=1332923
-Brett
Lower it soften up the suspension
why don't they run foams. They're pretty much just touring cars with jumps at this point

So I have a New B74.1D.
Im not sure what kind of Tires to get?
Looks Like you Run on Carpet.. I dont go to RC Parks...
Maybe you can still help me, if not I understand..
I have an email out to Proline and JC Concepts just patiently waiting for them to reply..
I am a outdoor person Grass and Dirt. And just for some testing my Long Driveway...
My old vintage losi xxx4 I had something like your Cactus Tires.. I got this car used,
It came with 2 sets of rims, Kind of a pain to swap as needed and dont want to do that again..
One set had Street Tires and the others had Knobby like the Cactus Tires.
I was thinking maybe a All Terrain tire? But what do I know!
What would you suggest?
Thank you.
Congrats on getting the buggy!
Tires selection is limited for non-racing use, but we have some tires that might work for you.

The competition grade tires would be a great choice as well for dirt and and grass, but may wear fast on the paved driveway. It's a give and take.
Hope this helps. Let me know what you think.

@@AMain_Hobbies
Thank you for this input.
I had found what I used on my old xxx4.
Just for testing and when board my driveway is big,
I had Pro-Line Road Rage 1102 and 1101-00 I guess they are vintage today.. lol
The Bandito's look cool for a Replacements...
Maybe I will get a 2nd Pair of Rims... Future...
What do you think of JConcepts Goose Bumps tire
3019-02 and 3018-02.
I know Panther has the T300 a Similar tire to the Losi xxx4 tires I had..
The competition grade tires would be a great choice as well for dirt and and grass?
What ones are those?
Dirt and Grass is what I need that WONT touch Pavement..
Thank you so much,
JM
@@johnm8558 The 3019-02 panther tires are pretty nice with a nobby on top of a bar; when the nobs wear, the bar remains as tread. Another idea, these hard nobbied carpet tires: www.amainhobbies.com/jconcepts-nessi-2.2-premounted-rear-buggy-carpet-tires-white-2-pink-jco3167-101021/p1441135
If the surface is hardpacked these won't work but they should be great in the softer conditions.
In hardpack, these proline blockaids are great traction and available in different rubber compounds: www.amainhobbies.com/proline-blockade-2.2-rear-buggy-tires-2-m3-pro8231-02/p361771?v=274893

Damn where can I buy a racing ready car like this one
Most race cars come as a kit to build up, but Team Associated will soon offer the RB10: www.amainhobbies.com/team-associated-rb10-rtr-1-10-electric-2wd-brushless-buggy-blue-asc90031/p-qqqcqquqgb2xqctz

-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies if I got one of these I’ll get the 4wd instead but thank u for the info these cars are beautiful
The 1/10 buggy looks fragile these days..😁
all true with brand new tyres, but after 1 or 2 battery packs with 'hacked' tyres, you really beg for more front side bite. We all use cactus fusions with only glue on the sidewall. You have to be a little carefull on pack 1, but after that, you get 3 or 4 packs with balanced handling. More than that, and it gets frustrating, you lose so much sise bite, you really can't keep up with buddies using fresher tyres. Your hacks are only good if you want the most performance out of 1 pack, but you blow the tyre budget if you have to run a whole WE event!!
as im at the time just try to learn my buggy how to drive and tune and not racng yet its way more easy to save some money just to leav the tyres and drive them from to much grip to enough and in the end bald and trashed.
I take the foams out of my front tires
Hi
change skale body to big in this scale .. .
This is ridiculous. just use banditos. LOL
First
ou should try duc tape
Dude add some glue.¥?
You really shut look at what’s really going on
Breaking is usually the last thing that happens at the track for me too.
