    epitome ==> e-pit-o-me
(I learned the word by reading it and therefore mispronounced it for years myself.)

Nice. I had a 1/25 scale AMY model kit of the Dodge Deora. The front opened and I always loved it's design.

4:02 - Reminds me in a homework my father had to do in the 1960s. The task was to imagine to live in the year 2000. My father back then wrote a fun to read short story which contained:
    - Nuclear powered cars in which you insert an uranium tab like you would insert a plastic coin in a bumper car in amusement parks.
    - A full 3d holographic full color TV with 5 channels (in the 60's western Germany only had two TV-channels).
    - A European federal government which celebrated the introduction of a common curency after this federal government had been established.
    - He himself working for a large company and living in a penthouse with his future family in 2000.
The last one kind-of came true. As an official he worked for the administration of the Federal German Army and our families home had two floors atop of the house my grandfather bought right after WW-II. And in reality, the Euro came and a true European federal government with the member countries being states as in today's Germany or the USA not.
Overall, my fathers story was not too unrealistic and in a few aspects not even too far from the reality of the year 2000 and beyond.
7:36 - This car was used as the model for the police cars in the movie "Demolition Man" where they were depicted as electric cars.

Thank you for yet another look back at the future that might have been! One concept car that didn't get a mention (yet) is the 1973 mid-engine Chevrolet Aerovette, a gull-winged beauty (IMO) with a Wankel rotary engine, that had actually been greenlit for production for the 1980 model year. Needless to say, that future never came to pass.

Have you heard of the Soviet concept car VAZ-X by Avtovaz from the 1980's? Looks quite cool, too.Or the AZLK-2144 "Istra"; or the NAMI Ohta Concept? Super cool retrofuturistic stuff, if you asked me.

1:10 That Ford Gyro is the spitting image of the car in the puppet show Supercar! It was an early show from the same team that made Thunderbirds.
Love your channels, Seb, but knowing what I do about Italian Futurists from 100 years ago, it does make me nervous! ;-) Quote from the Futurist Manifesto: "We will glorify war-the world's only hygiene-militarism, patriotism, the destructive gesture of freedom-bringers, beautiful ideas worth dying for, and scorn for woman."

Fun fact: the Ferrari Modulo was featured in the 1988 Michael Jackson film MOONWALKER.

I’m happy I got to sit in the futura but at that time it was the 1960s batmobile

I know you're all about Syd Mead, but I would hazard a guess that the European and especially Italian cars were more influenced by the work of Luigi Colani. I see more of his organic futurism in car design than angular. Colani drew from nature and flow through water and air based on how animals have evolved over time, but he was not averse to sleeker, more angular designs like the Modulo. Take a look at Colani's work, and you might find another subject for a future (pun intended) video.

I've seen a few art books of Colani's work. Quite interesting.

✨Wonderful concept cars of the future!! ✨My favorite is the Ferrari Modulo, Wow!! My son owns an Alpha Romeo Giulia. I joke with him saying he should've bought the Carabo, hahaha!! Mom is a futurist enthusiast. 🛸Thank you for this great content.

No offense, but if I ever get a car I want a dune buggy. A red one, with a yellow hood.
Most Italians (and quite a few Europeans) will understand.
