I don't why but mamamoo songs really feed my musical taste even their solos. Because of them, i realize i like pop with jazz, funky and retro vibes. I thought i just like ballad but i was wrong 😂. Mamamoo is artist that is worth to stan. I'm excited for their upcoming full length album...i'm sure the songs will be fantastic.
Mamamoo were also the artists that made me realize i love retro-inspired music! i thought i'd be sticking to noise music for the rest of my life, but now i really enjoy 70s-90s inspired k-pop songs, especially synthpop and synthwave!!
although i haven't heard any snippets (or anything about the album, i didn't even know they were coming back until i read this comment! even with all the social media i use, or anything to notify me about new releases, i never get notified until after the MV teasers are up 😭), i know the album will be their best yet and the songs will be amazing! 💙

if i had to be honest, i was a bit disappointed. i expected a mini album, since we haven’t really had any Mamamoo content recently (there was MMM The Best, but most songs were remakes). as much as i am disappointed, i’m happy we got some music from the girls.
@@esthernity I relate. As much as I'd like a couple more songs, the ones we got were fine too and I'm gonna live with that(Illella could have been better imo, but the other 2 are pretty good)
Mamamoo is the only kpop group that convinced me to finally stanning them, even tho I discovered them way too late (to be exact: when they renewed their contract). I enjoyed their song a lot, it really helps gaining my mood when I feel burn out with works and tasks.
there's really no such thing as discovering a group too late!! as for their songs, i agree with what you said. mamamoo's songs really help lift my mood whenever i feel stressed or exhausted from whatever life throws at me! 💙

this is so wildly different than what i'd rank them as but that's the beauty of mamamoo's discography, it's so diverse there is something for everyone

our rankings are pretty much the exact opposite!! you really are right by saying Mamamoo have a diverse discography! i knew it was diverse, but after seeing your ranking, the diversity slowly sank into me, and now i feel like i love their discography more than i already have!!!
*also, major respect for writing out EVERY song you'd put higher or lower! i was expecting a top 5/10, but you literally ranked their entire discography, which i didn't expect.

My personal opinion, Mamamoo don't have any bad song. Whatever genre they did; the composition, the arrangement, the sound production & the enginering is top notch, aside from their ultimate fortes, that are beautiful voices & great singing techniques. Mamamoo songs tend to be long-lasting pleasure. But, i consider it legit anyway you wanna rank them. This video is a good compilation, i must say. So thank you.
this is true: Mamamoo don't have any bad songs. liking or disliking songs is completely different, since songs that an individual might not like might be enjoyed by others, so no songs in their discography would be considered "bad songs". all of their songs were made so well, everyone who worked on the songs behind the scenes, including the girls themselves, put their hearts and souls into making sure every instrument, every vocal, every second of the song received care and became the best version it can possibly be to be released to the world.

even though we (seem to) have different taste when it comes to music genres (according to your thoughts on my rankings), i still find it amazing how people who enjoy different types of music can still come together and become one just by being a fan of the same artist!! 💙💙

honestly i really like mamamoo and their songs but what really makes me love them is their performances. Personally, I had the same opinion as you about I Miss You and Gleam until I saw them sing live.
To be honest your ranking didn’t bother me so much I disagree with some but I was totally vibing. And often you explained it rlly well why it is so low in your ranking. But mmm has no bad songs so it depend on taste of individuals. Great video and a solid ranking. 👏 👏👏👏

this is pretty off-topic compared to song rankings, but if i had to be honest, i didn't think my commentary on each song was enough to explain why i like or don't like their songs (a few of my comments actually explain why i like or don't like a song, but the rest are just "it's so good" or "it's a good song, but not something i enjoy"), so seeing comments like these about my commentary make me realize that my commentary isn't as bad as i think it is (it's a self criticism thing, don't worry), while helping me strive to make these small commentaries better as my discography rankings go on 💙💙

i think that this is great news! not only are Moonbyul's vocals no longer overlooked, she gets to show her raw talent at the GDAs! don't even get me started on the solo OST- i'm so excited to hear it whenever it comes out!! even though it's just an OST (getting the chances to sing an OST are slim to none, but i feel as if they are extremely underrated and unappreciated compared to genuine solo work, so saying that it's "just an OST" sadly means it won't get as much attention as it should), it's solo music from Moonbyul, and i think everyone can agree that we needed more solo work from her.
@@esthernity Yeah, Moonbyul not winning would be an accident, taking we were the big fandom in the competition and she was in a league of her own, as usual.
OSTs do need more appreciation because they are musical pieces as well. Mamamoo have some very beautiful OSTs, be it group or solo. Solar's 'Dun Dun Dun' or 'Blue Bird' are very underappreciated imo. The group one with Loco called 'The Song' is amazing but I don't see anyone talking about it :( Also, Hwasa should sing more osts. She has the least solo osts among the vocal line, for some reason

although i don’t really listen to I Miss You that much, i’m glad that we both share the same mindset when it comes to Mamamoo’s discography! even though i personally don’t like some songs in their discography, i have to admit they are one of the few k-pop groups with a really solid discography, their solo works included!

I agree Destiny is one of the best, they should hv released an MV for this song and promote it... But gurll why do you hate AYA, I love tht song, it got me into Mamamoo (I'm late, yes, but I was early into KPOP)

as for Aya, i wouldn't say that i HATE it, but more or less DISLIKE it. the vocals are on point (like always), the raps are slaying, the choreography really fits the concept and vibes of the song, but i just can't seem to like the song. i feel like it's because the chorus is really repetitive (the main instrument in the chorus that i don't know the name of kind of overpowers the rest of the instrumental)... if the instrumental was more balanced out, i'd definitely enjoy the song more. although, the "dance break/instrumental break" near the end of the song is amazing and is always stuck in my head, so who knows, sooner or later i might actually start enjoying Aya! 💙💙

@@esthernity Well, I think I can share some more in depth thoughts. Talking about Travel Era, I would never rank "AYA" so low (valid for both versions - I personally like the kinda strange and odd way the new version sounds to me), but I totally agree with you and endorse your comments about "Dingga", easily a top-10 Mamamoo music. I don't think I dislike any of their songs though, so most of the disagreements relies on "negative" (in a way) comments you made, specially for "Happier Than Ever", "Baton Touch", "I Miss You" and "Peppermint Chocolate" (I like those songs a lot). Furthermore, I agree 100% with your thoughts about "Wind Flower", but I would rank it at top 1 or 2. Anyway, it's good indeed to be able to talk about Mamamoo songs with others, so I maintain my thanks. ^^
this is honestly a great ranking! i can’t say too much about it (since it isn’t a full discography) but i completely respect the ranking! i do agree, some comments i made seemed pretty negative, and i honestly regret that now 😣
seeing how you love the songs that i don’t really enjoy is honestly amazing!! it only proves that Mamamoo have songs for everyone and none of their songs go unnoticed and without the praise they deserve.

Your statement at 5:06 is the exact reason why I listen to ballads occasionally even though I love them. It incites either an emotional overcharge or a broody mental state for me, and I can't work like that 😅
Personally, if I were to reason objectively, there are a number of Mamamoo songs that I would never listen to had they been put out by any other artist(Diamond and Chuck, among others). I didn't like them initially, but I just love MAMAMOO's voices so much that at some point, they didn't sound all that bad anymore! (Idk what kind of sorcery is this...) It's to the point where a song could rank pretty low on my list but I would still sing along to it 😅
YES to 'Better' being a comfort song!
'Mr Ambiguous', 'Chase Me' and 'Heaven' are the best debut songs I've ever heard. They are so good it's unbelievable 😭
8:21 MMM did too well with 'Midnight Summer Dream'. I really like the song, but they delivered the creepy vibes so well I feel uneasy to listen to it 😅🥲
8:31 Gogobebe rock version is SUPERIOR(for me)to the original 🔥 Onewe rearranged it btw, they did such a good job
9:59 I couldn't agree more. It's a song I would expect in Gfriend's discography, but MMM just pull it off so well. This is what I expected K-pop to sound like before I actually listened to kpop(read Mamamoo)😅

i'm glad that someone agrees on my takes about ballads, they just make me too emotional. if i genuinely want to cry, i love listening to ballads, but i don't understand why i should ruin a perfectly fine day by crying over a song!!
i would LOVE to sing along to Mamamoo songs, even the ones ranked lower on my list... the only problem is i don't know the lyrics, and i can't sing. if anything, i'll lipsync to the song so that i feel like a vocal queen! 😅
Better is SUCH A GOOD COMFORT SONG. if anyone doesn't have Better on their comfort playlist, their taste is terrible (i'm joking, everyone has their own taste in comfort songs, and they are free to not have Better on their playlist).
if Onewe rearranging gogobebe to be a rock song STILL doesn't prove their talent to non-fans, i genuinely may or may not be throwing a couple punches to those who call them "talentless" or "the unpopular brother group"...

@@esthernity For singing along, I search up websites with romanised lyrics of the song, then play the song from spotify. I sing along as much as I can, and pause and rewind to learn a tune or recheck the timing of the lyrics. Listening and singing along just twice a day, and doing this for a few days, with some attention to making the pronounciation sound as good as possible, usually does the trick for me. I'm not saying you have to do it, though, that's just how it works out for me 😅
The fact that people out there call Onewe 'talentless' proves that many people on internet are not to be taken seriously. Or that they have non-functioning auditory nerves or neurons, any of the two.

this is the exact reason why i enjoy watching ranking videos: not only do i find more music watching these types of videos, but seeing others talk about their likes and dislikes in music brings me so much joy, even though it’s just some person who decided to share their favourite song on the internet.

My rankings would put the ethnic songs (Egotistic, Aya) third to last, the ballads (all of them) second to last, and the rap songs dead last. At the top would be the rock songs and rock revised songs, with the jazzy, retro songs next, and the poppy songs next after those. #1 is Decalcomanie, #2 is Destiny, and #3 is the 2021 revised You're the Best.

mamamoo is my ult girl group, and have been for many years, and through my OWN VIDEO and my OWN RANKING, i am showing just one of the many instances in which it's perfectly normal to not like every single song that your faves put out.
um girl....... most of the stuff on here is praising mamamoos songs. And you dont need to like everything a group puts out to be a fan
