One of the best most efficient electric cars ever made is the 2017 ioniq electric. With a 28 kw battery I was able to achieve 270-280km. I used the car for public transportation with Lyft and Uber. Very good car

GOOD job👍🏻 My calculations were 264 KM - and you drove longer.
Your test is way more accurate compared to what Tesla Bjorn did.
I wonder how he managed to have such a high consumption and only get 220 KM out of it.
We have driven more than 3650 KM now in our egolf. It is from 1 of July. Our avg consumption is 122 WH. So our range is in fact 260 KM on 100 % SOC. This car is way more efficient than the ID.3. I think the tests I saw of it. Or my Tesla Model 3😂😂 170 WH

Nice work! Sweaty palms? I recently drove my 2017 (34,000 km on odo) e-Golf 232 km (started at 93%) and took battery down to 7%. I also drafted a truck for 25 km but did not want to see turtle because I am not as brave as you! My calculations say 27.5 kWh capacity, though I drove faster than you. You got 31 kWh on your trip - clearly a new battery pack. Fun!

Hope you made up for it and slept well the next night, well after that challenge you deserve a beer/wine/cider/poison of choice. :) Here I was abit worried about 23% SoC on my Ioniq that is nothing compared to yours.

I still wonder how efficient 36k eGolf is compared to old 24k. With 24k under 12 kWh/100 is reachable at 80km/h+noAC in best case, at 90 my figures tend to be 13+ (no AC and similar out temps).

Thinking about buying a 2020 E-Golf. Daily commute of 60km one way and a public charger nextdoor. We live in an apartment and don't have the possibility to charge ourselves.
Any idea on the degradation of the battery after one year of use?

I don't recommend deep discharge, try to keep it above 40% and you may get a lot more life out of the car. Also when charge is low, you can get surprises, like sudden drop in percentage, so always plan your trip with high margin.

get closer to the truck and save 20%...
but the 90km/h results are too worse.
I regulary get over 300 km in eco+ mode cause I have a roundtrip of 305 km where I usually charge and then drive faster or do the slow speed and get through run if it is not too warm or cold.
Did you do a roundtrip or was there an altitude gap between start and recharge ?
ABRP should do the SOC trick too if you use the VW BT or we connect dongle if you have the ABRP+ subscription cause that offers dynamic route and charge planning based on live SOC and consumption.
Lot of work to drive all your tests.
But the hours of driving on these constant speeds is a chance for you to get behind usability and software.
And the interieur quality is great and comparable to a mercedes c-class of that era.
But that is the result of economy of scale and a shared platform:
adding a new drive system is doable for cheap with the legacy of good quality
id3 starts as a tiny volume production compared to the million of Golfs produced each year. Having a dashboard form that easily can cost 1 Mio. € then the cost per car are 10€ for an id3 100.000 unit production and 1€ for a golf 1.000.000 unit production. Be aware we are only talking about the degradation of a form to mold a (plastic) dashboard.
In a world of budget and target costs the only way to save money is to use a cheaper material, no soft surfaces, no metal applications.. You can't reach golf built + material quality if your volume is 1/10 and the only way to save a bit is lower interior quality and saving parts, applications compared to the e-golf that got a lot of applications /badges from the GTI or GTE.
Imagine you deliver the car with a floor and without foot carpets:
you save at least 20€ of material costs and at least 50% of larbor time and overhead costs like logistics which are the costs from arrival point, quality check, moving into storage and then the continous flow to the point where the carpet is clipsed in its position.
Might save 5 minutes of direct working time for
★ going from car to the pick up place
★ grabbing the set of 4
★ going to the car while
★ sorting the driver carpet out (co driver has a different one)
★ laying the unneeded 3 carpets down to avoid scratches
    ★ opening the door
★ putting the carpet in and
★ clipse it in at 2 points for front seats
    ★ closing door
★ picking up the remaining 3 carpets
    ★ going to next door
Don't think 5 minutes are a lot. Do it yourself that way and then you know how long it needs in your first and 10th trial.
And it saves overhead costs like bad quality at delivery ...
id3 will be delivered without carpets and that saves 20€ for the carpets (you have to pay at least 80€ net + VAT / sales tax in the accessory shop and 300% is the usual margin so a good way to reverse calculate to get the purchase price)
You also will save the logistics for the carpets and the overhead costs and the assembly cost which can be another 20€.
VW saves 40€ by removing carpets from the id3 .
And on top 50% of id 3 buyers will buy genuine VW carpets for 100€ in the shop and bring VW another wholesale profit of 67% of net margin (80€ - 20€) x 2/3 = 40€
If every 2nd id3 buyer later buys genuine carpets VW saved 40€ costs and gained 40€ x 50% buyers = 20€ profit which is 60€ in total.
This tiny cut brings VW 60€ moving ahead from the e-Golf to id.3
And they needed a lot more steps and cuts to get from the e-golf costs (subsidiarized by VW combustion platform) to id3.
You will recognice every tiny cut if you look carefully. The hood will have no hydraulic stand ... for example another 10€ part saved if you get a pure metal rod. Works great even in russian winter where the hydraulic one sucks.
