I've been using this for about a month just because I know it's good and I halfway understood the benefit. And now that I've watched this video I completely understand, thanks for such a great video.
Research notes make it complicated because it is complicated. I have written papers and given talks about mycorrhizal associations since the early 1980’s. One size fits all does not apply to mycorrhizal fungi as there are seven recognized types of mycorrhizal associations. Some are Facultative Symbionts while others are Obligate Symbionts. There is no such thing as understanding the associations by generalizing to the point of making misleading statements. Your video makes some good points but the diversity of mycorrhizal associations and how the grower has to foster the associations does not lend itself to a short sound bite.
Another concept to keep in mind is that, although mycorrhizal fungi are keystone species for plant and soil health, neither they or the plant operate in a vacuum.
‘An extensive cotton-ball-like mass...’ Very true. I use mycorrhizal fungi all the time and I have noticed this after harvesting when I empty the pot. The root system is totally different to those that haven’t had the addition of mycorrhizal spores.
Good promotion and explanation! The person narrating has a calm and clear manner of speaking and doesn't talk down to the listener. 👍👍💙 Two Thumbs up! I was converted years ago to supplementing new plants in a natural although not "O" organic way but it still is a hard sell to homeowners that I work for. Thank you for making this video and I will try to recommend they watch it if they are doing their due diligence.

Do gardening products contain Morel sporels. I cfounds some local and made my own spore surry for my garde, but i was wondering if that is one of the species that is present in mycos mixes
I had a yellowish fungus in my dumb cane plant which used to sprout mushrooms every while and then, after which i used to cut and burry again in the soil ... Now days no mushrooms are to be seen anymore and not even yellow traces of the fungus that used to appear on the face of the soil. I feel sorry for it. How can i get it back?
If I understand what I read about it correctly, the fungus is taking carbohydrates from the plant, while giving the plant nutrients. So I think it's basically serving as extensions for the roots, but I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong. From what I've seen online, it looks like fruits tend to benefit from the application, with the exception of blueberries and cranberries.
soil bacteria and fungi compete with and kill nematodes to a degree but its better to plant stuff that repells them or use some kind of treatment if you have a infestation. the fungi will just help prevent one from starting
You can apply it as a treatment in several ways, and some people dust their plant's roots with the powder. :) I just got some by a brand called Great White - you might get ideas for your specific needs by looking at reviews for similar products, or Reddit threads on the topic. Good luck!
I think you made some generalizations that can be misleading. I have been working with mycorrhizal fungi for 43 years and people need to know that there are seven different types of mycorrhizal fungi that colonize seven different kinds of plants. In addition your animations make it look like you can water in AB fungal propagules into the Rhizosphere of an established angiosperm plant. Many of the AB mycorrhizal spores (that colonize angiosperms) are way too large to percolate through the soil horizon. The public needs to know that you just can’t plug these fungi into any cultural practice without altering the practice somewhat. They need a quick lesson in the differences between Ecto and Endosmycorrhizal associations. My PhD and masters were accomplished looking at how to maximize these associations.
The spreading root like structures of the fungus are called mycelium not hyphae. Hyphae are the organelles that form at the connection points between mycelium and roots. Kudos on the video but fail on not having a mycologist review it before you put it on the internet to improperly educate people.
