"This boy of Filth" "she's born of mud", I really like how their castes are recognized as different but both are still bad in Gamzee's mind. Phemic is a masterful lyric writer.
i disagree tbh; its quite clear gamzee thinks quite highly of karkat (he's born of gods) but it also acknowledges karkat's position in the spectrum as a matter of fact (boy of filth). it a juxtaposition of their places in the spectrum (terezi is a teal, trainin to be a legislacerator, she serves as judge, jury and executioner in her games about it, karkat isnt much of anything, hes filth) with his actual opinion (karkat is precious to him, born of Gods, terezi aint much of nothin, born of mud).

i still listen to phemiec songs occasionally. they really stuck with me as a kid, phemiec’s song writing and voice is so beautiful. their songs always make me so emotional and nostalgic

I still really love Homestuck with all my heart. It's become so engrained into who I am. This music really helped fuel my passion for it when I first started it. Thank you for uploading the videos here so I could see them. I never had a Tumblr until a while after I started the comic.

im 2 years too late on this, but their relationship's only toxic because gamzee, at that point in homestuck, had been turned into a psycho after being coached through his sobriety by lil cal after having his faith destroyed by dave revealing to him that ICP is a thing. if a friend had helped him through his sobriety like how terezi did in the fic and there was no lil cal around to fuck with him, theres no reason i can see for gam to turn into the murderous ball of puke that canon gamzee currently is.

Homestuck is a mixed-media webcomic. Most pages consist of one or two still or animated gif panels, with narration and dialog text underneath. There are also occasionally longer animations and interactive game segments for when some real shit is going down, which is why it has such an epic OST.
The story is a coming-of-age / creation myth featuring 4 friends who play a computer game and eventually team up with some aliens to win.
Many fans found it hard to get into at first, but most people are hooked enough by the time they reach the "End of Act Two" animation.
Narration is styled like one of those old text adventure games, where a situation is described, the player inputs a command, the game describes the outcome of the player's action, and so on. In Homestuck, the "next page" button represents a command for the characters to carry out on the next page.
There actually used to be a forum where readers could submit commands, but that ended when the comic got more involved and plot-oriented.

Basically the Lyrics are Gamzee being pale for Karkat and Black for Terezi
assuming that you don't know anything about homestuck (because i can totally see someone finding their way to this song without knowing homestuck, and that is just my immediate assumption as to why someone wouldn't understand the lyrics) this takes place in a society where there are 4 different kinds of "romantic" relationships, represented by the four card suits. the two focused on this song are moiraillegiance, represented by a diamond, where two people watch each other and make sure the other doesn't do anything too stupid or unhinged (generally described as platonic soulmates), and kismesissetude, represented by a spade, where two people dislike a lot of qualities about each other but also admire and are attracted to some qualities about each other a d fight a lot about the qualities they dislike about each other (generally described as romantic hatred). the person whose perspective this song is from is moirails with the boy and kismeses with the girl. he's also... pretty unhinged.
