Hory shet, he playing the original SP campain? that's awesome. The campain was great, yet no one really cared in the community from my understanding. it was all about the multilayer.
You can't build a factory first in the original supcom. You don't have the energy storage for it initially. In FA you have 4000 energy initially stored meanwhile in Supcom you have 2500 energy stored. It costs 2100 energy to build a factory. Leaving you very little resources to build economy buildings. A pgen costs 750 energy I think. So you'd stall energy on your second building. I think two pgens and then the factory is the way to go.
+praisegugleourmaster They did a pretty good job recreating the TA intro into the SupCom opening. The bits with the ACU look a lot like the bits with the TACom.
Are you going to go through entire factions at once or do all the 1st missions, then the second missions, etc. I did the latter in my playthrough and I liked the consistent difficulty curve, as well as comparing the maps where more than one mission takes place on the same planet. But it's harder to follow the story if you're not already familiar with it.
Oh god the horrible UI. Had forgotten that. And the pathfinding was even worse back then. Damn that's bad. These tank obstacles walls work much better than a full wall ^^ And YES! Supcom physics where a commander can dodge tank shells! You should have killed him with a couple labs after taking the base xD Yeah, if they've been at war for a thousand years, you can bet they're all more or less evil. UEF is the facist regime who wants to enslave all Cybran and doesn't shy away from continued slave labour. Aeon are the the religious peace advocates turned extremists who will re-educate the rest of the humans or kill those who don't. The cybran are actually the ones with the most honest mandate, they are just freeing their fellow enslaved brethren, never mind the billions dead doing it.

kinda like Halo before the covenant showed up except without a 3rd faction. in Halo the insurrectionists were originally fighting for freedom but they resorted to killing everyone as long as the UNSC got hurt. the UNSC wanted control of everything valuable to them and don't care if they kill civilians while they are doing it. the only real good guys were the individuals or small groups that were actually fighting for freedom. not too different from the UEF and cybrans

Not got used to this style, used to turtle and repair, this is different.
There's a button to swap the UI around to one more like the FA one. Gotta check the controls because I can't remember it.

You should play on hard mode. Normal is too easy. :)

I've played through it entirely. However i feel the story still lacked compared to the SupCom story and the mechanics are lackluster

sup com 1 and FA are yes, there some of my favourite games of all time. But supcom2 i feel lacked in what made the other 2 in the series great
