    1. Can you afford it without touching your emergency fund or savings?
    2. Does the new job put you on the right path/industry you want to be in?
    3. Does the new job offer opportunities to grow your salary in the near future?

    If it's too stressful, then the increase in money is not worth it

    Used to make upwards of six figures as a commercial fisherman. Loved the job but I wanted to move somewhere else. When I moved I took a job that made 30 an hour and worked 70-80 hours a week. Recently left and now make about 50k a year but I work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, which allows me SO much more time to actually live my life and enjoy the place I purposefully moved to (Alaska). I live cheap though and am good with money. It can be done and can work out for the best.

    I shifted from a managerial position in the financial markets to working as a 2D artist for video games, and I can say that numbers 1, 2 , and 3 are on point.

    Great video! I wondered if anyone considered what 'short-term' is? Is this 1 year or is it 5 years? If you're moving into a completely new field, it would take longer to match previous pay.

      @MeCuestaEscuchar Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on your age. When you're 20 short term might be 5 years. When you're 50, it's closer to 1 year.

    What about those of us who having to leave our states due to vaccine mandates, I am facing a 50% pay cut because of this

    • @ChrisJr59
      @ChrisJr59 Před 2 lety

      @ptventuretx forgot its that easy. Not like people gave mortgages, kids in school, bills, family, etc.

    • @MrWhite00001
      @MrWhite00001 Před 2 lety

      Get the vaccine and keep your job? Is it really worth losing right now? It’s not like the vax is the mark of the beast.

    • @ChrisJr59
      @ChrisJr59 Před 2 lety

      @@MrWhite00001 to force employees to take a vaccine that is inevective or risk losing their job is called coercion which is a crime. It is not the unvaxxed who are the enemy, it is the employers using coercion to fulfill an agenda that are the enemy. How about instead of telling ppl to just get the shot to keep their job, you tell the employers to stop discriminating based off medical history and pay the workers based on performance.
